Rest;
Kette. X bedeutet eine - O R'- oder - S R'- oder - N R' R"-Gruppe, wobei R' und
R" beliebige organische Reste, also aliphatische, cycloaliphatische, aromatische
nach dem Verfahren der Patente 840 239 und 852 539.Lubricants It is known that compounds of the general formula which are to be addressed as xanthogen polysulphides, can be used to improve lubricants, which are given special compressive strength. The mixtures produced in this way, however, are not very stable and, above all, have the disadvantage that they strongly attack copper and its alloys and therefore must not be brought into contact with these metals. It has now been found that compounds of the general formula are high-quality lubricants that can be used on their own, but are particularly suitable for improving other lubricants, especially lubricating oils, both hydrocarbon oils and oily esters or mixtures of hydrocarbon oils with esters of the type mentioned. In the above formula, R denotes any aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical; preferably the remainder of an aliphatic hydrocarbon with a straight or branched chain. X denotes an - O R 'or - S R' or - NR 'R "group, where R' and R" contain any organic radicals, that is to say aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic groups, preferably the radicals of aliphatic hydrocarbons straight or branched chain or, if it is a nitrogen-containing group, also means hydrogen. Compounds of this type are obtained, for example, by the process of patents 840,239 and 852,539.
in beliebigem Mengenverhältnis anwenden.
When mixing the above-mentioned sulfur-containing compounds with others
Lubricants, especially lubricating oils, can be the sulfur-containing compounds
use in any proportion. A sufficient compressive strength of the mixture
In general, at least as much of the sulfur-containing compounds is used to achieve this
at; than an addition of about 2.5% sulfur.
The new lubricants are characterized by their extraordinary compressive strength
off, are therefore extremely high-pressure lubricants; besides, they are against copper
and its alloys are very durable. For example, copper sheets will be if you
exposes it to the compounds mentioned, not even after 3 days at go °
changed in the slightest.
The parts given in the examples below are parts by weight. EXAMPLE i To 100 parts of a mixture of equal parts of an oil obtained by polymerization of ethylene with a viscosity of 1.6 ° E at 20 ° and an ester of adipic acid with a boiling point of 14o to 18o ° in the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide under pressure obtained mixture of branched-chain alcohols having 5 to 7 carbon atoms, which is a high-temperature-resistant lubricating oil; 6.3 parts of i, 4-butylene-bis-dithiocarbonic acid ethyl ester (obtainable according to Example 2 of patent 840 239) are added. The mixture has the same high resistance to cold as the one described above, but is much more pressure-resistant. During the test in the four-ball apparatus, the load increased from 16o to 320 kg / cm2. The mix attacks metals; also copper and its alloys, so that they remain completely bare: Example e To 88 parts of a mineral lubricating oil with a viscosity of 2.1 at 9g °, which can withstand a load of 160 kg / cm2 in the four-ball apparatus, is added 12 Parts of ethylene-bis-dithiocarbonic acid isoamyl ester (obtainable according to Example z of patent 840 239). The mixture can withstand a load of 600 kg / cm2 in the four-ball apparatus and is ideally suited for the lubrication of highly loaded bearings. Overheating of the bearing is avoided and there is no corrosion whatsoever.
