Description

Process for the production of grained leather by pressing on a layer of a thermoplastic mass. The subject of patent 841 866 is a process for the production of leather which is provided on the surface with a laminated layer of a thermoplastic mass. This is a product which, in terms of its appearance, is comparable to the known patent leather, but which is significantly superior to conventional patent leather in terms of resistance to cold, break, crack, abrasion and flame resistance. According to the main patent, the thermoplastic film placed on the raw leather is heated from above with the interposition of a press plate, while the leather is kept cool by the other press plate. It is already thinks that through the use of a press plate with duck calculating_ = engraving - any - Scars can be @ tears on. The invention is based on the knowledge that a good looking product too is achieved when the scar laminated leather. aue @ reBt -will. At the later Smooth press plates can then be used by pressing on the thin plastic layer. In the finished leather, the grain is still perfectly pronounced. The grain becomes more prominent, the more elastic the layer sandwiched between the back of the leather and the cooled press plate, which, as already stated in the main patent, has the purpose of compensating for differences in leather thickness and the back of the vapors released during pressing to escape unhindered. However, the press plates do not necessarily need to be completely smooth. In turn, they can also be provided with an, in particular, finely patterned engraving. In this case, the grains that are initially pressed into your leather and the additional pattern resulting from the engraving of the press plates are superimposed, so that the number of possible designs is practically unlimited.
