Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man, ausgehend von einem Flächengebilde auf Gewebe- oder Gewirkebasis, das mit einer elastischen Schicht hierzu geeigneten organischen Materials beschichtet ist, selbst unter Verwendung einer mit hierzu geeignetem Material, insbesondere Natur- oder Kunstharzen, imprägnierten und gegebenenfalls damit beschichteter Textilbahn zu einem porösen und ge- schmeidigen Kunstleder oder kunstlederähnlichem Produkt gelangen kann, wenn man während der anschließenden Trocknung oder Plastifizierung das Flächengebilde in derLängs-und/oderQuerrichtung bei erhöhter Temperatur und vorteilhaft unter sich allmählich steigernder Spannung einer Streckung unterwirft.
