Description

Process for the production of rubber or rubber derivatives reduced Viscosity 1 # .s is known, the viscosity of rubber solutions through action small amounts of chemically active substances (e.g. halogens, ozone, hypophosphorous) reduce, whereby the use of more concentrated rubber solutions is made necessary, which leads, for example, to a saving in solvents. In addition, the many 1, alleti also the viscosity of the rubber solutions pretreated from Gien recoverable rubber derivatives, for example chlorinated rubber, also reduced, so that more solids are incorporated in the paint production in this way can. According to the invention, the rubber or its derivatives are preferably dissolved Form subject to the action of small amounts of chlorine dioxide. According to a preferred The embodiment is a solution of chlorine dioxide in a rubber solvent used. The chlorine dioxide can also be in gaseous form, e.g. B. diluted with carbonic acid, are introduced into the reaction solution. The method according to the invention draws is characterized by its simplicity and enables it with a very short exposure time continue to work with the exclusion of water. Working in a homogeneous, liquid phase also allows a safe and hewn dosage of chlorine dioxide or setting the desired viscosity. The action of the Chlorine dioxide takes place at room temperature. Treatment with chlorine dioxide can e.g. 13. in the production of rubber hydrochloride, during or after Hydrogen chloride treatment can be carried out. Another example is the application listed in the production of chlorinated rubber. From those treated with chlorine dioxide Rubber solutions can easily be made of light-colored chlorinated rubbers Produce chlorine content.

Execution example A solution of 2 g of rubber in carbon tetrachloride had a viscosity corresponding to the flow time of 123 seconds, measured in a Ford pot with the nozzle 40. After adding 0.002 g of chlorine dioxide, dissolved in carbon tetrachloride, the flow time was 130 ccm of the above solution decreased to 15 seconds after 1/2 hour exposure.
