vermeiden.Artificial stone bitumen paving Artificial stone paving can be a special one
Have meaning when natural or artificial substances for a suitably cheap
Manufacture of artificial stones are available. When such substances occur
in larger quantities in the area of more extensive road construction stretches, the natural
Conditions for the execution of artificial stone plaster are all the more favorable. Until now
However, this type of plaster has not become general due to certain technical deficiencies
can enforce. The aim of the invention is to address the existing deficiencies as much as possible
avoid.
From a technical point of view, artificial stone pavement is in itself as a result
`` Advantage that artificial stones are easier for the pavement because of their regular shape
are to be laid as natural stones. Furthermore, the pile driving work at
Artificial stone paving is generally easier than natural stone paving. This one
However, the natural advantages of artificial stone paving are also offset by disadvantages.
Artificial paving stones of the known type generally result in a

Interruptions in the smooth surface. However, the joint formation prepares special
Trouble. When the artificial stones for the purpose of mutual support in the lower
Butt jointly, the joints on the surface in the individual rows,
especially with the required low transverse inclination of the pavement, very narrow.
Normally, therefore, with artificial stone paving, pouring the joints would be the opposite
difficult to carry out on natural stone pavement. Hence the proposals for education

to be shed. With such a procedure, however, there is a likelihood
that under the action of traffic a compression of the joint filling compound and thus
an unevenness of the road surface occurs. Even with a complete surface treatment
of the plaster instead of the pure grouting of the joints remains the likelihood of a
special compression in the area of the joint fields. With a full
Surface treatment of normal artificial stone paving can also be done because of the
concerns about lack of grip on the smooth surface of the pavement.
According to British Patent 22830 Tiber Improvements to Brick Paving Blocks for Sidewalks, Streets and the like, the surface of the blocks can be roughened or grooved to apply a blanket of mortar or other material to the top of the blocks. Fig. I and 2 show the formation of grooves on the surface of the stones with vertical walls (section i) and with walls that recede downwards (section 2). Surface fields that are slightly wider than the groove fields are located between the grooves. If such grooves are formed on the surface of the stones, there is a likelihood that the bituminous masses of the ceiling will not completely penetrate the grooves and therefore will not completely fill them, so that subsequent compression within the joint fields under the influence of traffic and greater heat is expected allowed. Such a process would, however, cause unevenness on the ceiling surface. Also because of the division of the stone surface into groove fields and surface fields, the uneven compression of a bituminous pavement can occur under the influence of traffic.
The longitudinal and transverse grooves arranged on the cement body according to German patent specification 152 oio on a process for the production of cement slabs with asphalt pavement prevent the detachment and shifting of a bituminous pavement to a greater extent, but here, too, a special surface area appears because of the surface areas between the groove fields Crushing in the area of the slot fields under the influence of traffic cannot be ruled out.
verlaufen. Die Stärke, Zusammensetzung und Struktur der bituminösen Decke bleibt
vorbehalten.According to the invention, a combination of artificial stone paving and
bituminous cover formed with interlocking as closely as possible. To the bituminous

At the top, the shape of the furrows, which is widening, is achieved that the bituminous cover
not only receives a firm hold on the pavement surface, but also the bituminous
Masses completely fill the furrows, so that in view of the closed
Furc'henfeldes uneven compression of the bituminous surface if possible
be avoided. The artificial stones can, depending on their type of use, with different

Anlagen. The field of application of the invention extends to roads,
Residential streets, squares and the like.
The fundamental technical improvement of the artificial stone pavement in
Connection with a bituminous pavement according to the invention can lead to this
general use that could not previously be achieved.
