Liquids Air Lift Pump The invention relates to a
Air lift pump for pumping aqueous suspensions, which consist of a liquid
and fine-grained solid material, in particular of suspensions, which in the
Processing of minerals can be used.
With these pumps, a tube is immersed in a liquid
is, compressed air introduced at a corresponding depth below the liquid level.
Due to the weight reduction occurring at this point, the weight contained in the pipe
Liquid this rises under the effect of the pressure of the surrounding liquid
upwards, whereby a steady promotion occurs.
The invention provides a particularly favorable embodiment of a
Air lift pump and consists in the fact that the nozzle for supplying the compressed air is one
or has several pipe connections, and that an annular one for the outlet of the air
Gap is provided.
This has the advantage, especially with large pipe diameters and
when used to convey suspensions, that the air around the pipe circumference is uniform
distributed and a good delivery rate is achieved. In the drawing
an embodiment of the invention is shown, namely Fig. i shows a
Embodiment of an air lift pump, Fig. 2 another embodiment,
Fig. 3 shows a section through the air nozzle.
B. in
Abb, i),
teil 2. Dieser ist mittels Zentrierrand an dem Ober-
t ei il i angeschlossen. t' Am Oberteil sind ini Umfang

rung eintritt.
o. d'gl. versehen. Die Bolzenspitze io durchdringt
beim Eindrehen der Bolzen bis zur Anschlagstelle

triebsstellung zweckmäßig mir so tief eingeführt.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, an air nozzle 8 is built into a riser pipe 16. The riser pipe can either be immersed in a liquid, for example in a suspension consisting of magnetite and water (see Fig. Fig, i), or by a connection tube i9 with a storage container for
Liquids 20 be connected, (Fig. 2). The nozzle
is at the appropriate depth under the liquid
mirror or below the storage container
arranges and consists outwardly as a cylindrical
ring, which is flat and at the bottom perpendicular to the pipe
axis is faced. The nozzle becomes functional
between two pipe flanges 14 of the riser
set and distributed by several on the circumference
divided screws 13 sealingly with the pipe 16
bound.
The nozzle shown in the illustration consists
made of two rings, the upper part i and the lower part
part 2. This is by means of a centering edge on the upper
t ei il i connected. t 'on the upper part are ini circumference t'
two compressed air connections 3 are provided, which in a
rin @ gförinige chamber, 4 of the upper part open out. Of the
inner edge 5 of the upper part limits the chamber .l
in their entire height and forms with the interior
lower edge 6 of the lower part an annular
narrow gap 7 through which the air enters the
Riser pipe 16 enters.
The liquid contained in the riser experiences
a decrease due to the mixture with air
their weight, whereby under the influence of the
Pressure of the surrounding liquid above the
Nozzle buoyancy takes place and 'a steady conveying
tion occurs.
The air chamber 4, which consists of the upper and lower part
is formed, has at its lower outer edge
an inclined surface 12, which is rounded in the
merges with the lower edge of the gap. It is impossible
that after closing time there is magnetite in the nozzle
settles, which is reflected in the restart
has a disruptive effect on the system. By the arrangement
the inclined surface immediately in front of the gap
the magnetite can be blown out again through this
will.
