Description
Knife sharpening machine The known devices for regrinding and re-sharpening through the use of worn mower blades on agricultural mowers were awkward to use and required a considerable amount to operate Level of technical expertise common to many agricultural workers cannot always be assumed. These grinders also had one large space requirements, as the knives had to be stored horizontally when grinding and thus survived on both sides of the grindstone. Also required .these Grinding devices special double-conical special grinding wheels, on each of which two opposing cutting edges of the mower knife at the same time and were sanded with the same length. Was on one of the two cutting edges a deeper notch emerged through use, which had to be removed, see above was the other, opposite cutting edge ground off for just as long, what an excessive wear and tear on this perhaps only slightly worn edge meant. The grindstone was also used up unnecessarily quickly as a result. Many Farmers therefore preferred the primitive, traditional method for sharpening mower knives Grinding stone on which the sharpening took a long time and was imprecise became. In particular, however, the cutting edges ground in this way were seldom straight, because they are more or less strong by being guided by hand on the grindstone Obtained curvature that adversely affected mowing.
The deficiencies found are easily addressed according to the invention fixed by adding a tenon and in the upper part of the bearing block a shaft for the Grinding wheel arranged are. The one sitting on a horizontal shaft and pointing upwards by about 20 ° The pivot is used to hold the support frame for the cutter bar. The latter is arranged at an angle to the grinding wheel and can be swiveled. The holding frame is from Hand by axially advancing an axis in its bore on the grinding wheel introduced. The holding frame is held in catches by a spring and the latter are arranged in such a way that the cutting edges of the mowing knife are each horizontal on the The grinding wheel. The cutter bar is resiliently longitudinally displaceable in the holding frame stored and can be moved from one cutting edge to the other by applying pressure by hand "earth. On the machine frame there are grid grooves in the axis of the pivot pin Have play and a slightly limited movement of the cutting edges when grinding allow on the grinding wheel. There are also at least two notches on the pivot arranged to limit the swivel of the holding frame with the sliding bar perform. The upper part of the holding frame is the same with the lower part by a hinge in connection, which is operated by locking levers, the stand under the action of feathers. Further features according to the invention result from the drawings and the following description.

The mower knife grinding machine according to the invention consists of a B (xk 2 resting on a base plate i, in the lower part of which a hole is provided for the axis 3 of the pivot 4, angled by about 20 °, for the support frame 5 of the mane eater bar 6. In the upper part of the bracket - 2, the bearing is arranged for the drive shaft 7 of the grinding wheel 8. The holding frame 5 consists of a lower part 9 and an upper part the upper part to Tiber a hinge 12 is open for receiving the Mähmesserbalkens 6. the holding frame 5 is pivoted about the pivot pin 4 (Fig. 2), so that first one side of the riveted to the Mähniesserbalken 6 cutting the 2 i then, after the Turning the line 13 and 1-holder frame 5 by about 12o °, the other side of the cutting edge of the steel knife 13. I) Holding the H Altegestells 5 on (lein 1) relizallfen 4 takes place by a stop pin 14 and a notch 15 in the pipe section 16, to which the holding frame 5 is attached. A spring 18 held by a screw 17 secures (read the holding frame 5 in the required position. By pulling the holding frame 5 forward, the detent of the stop pin 14 is canceled so that the holding frame 5 can be rotated by about 120 ° A pin iy delimits the axis 3 in a grid groove 20 (Fig. 4). An upwardly curved bracket 21 is riveted to the upper part io of the holding frame 5, and the mower knife bar 6 with the knife bar 13 between the upper part io and the lower part 9 of the The curvature of the bracket 21 is necessary in order to be able to push the cutter head 22 of the mower knife 13 through the bracket 21. Instead of the drive disk 23, an electric motor can also be used, which drives the grinding wheel 8 via a transmission gear actuated.
The operation of the knife sharpening machine according to the invention is as follows: the locking levers ii are turned over and (read the upper part to of the holding frame 5 around (read the hinge 12 of the lower part 9 (Fig.3). The upper part io is then closed again and pressed against the lower part by the locking lever i1. The mower knife bar 6 is then clamped in such a way that it can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction by hand in the holding frame 5, but not At the start of grinding, the cutter bar 6 with the cutter blades 13 is expediently clamped in the holding frame 5 in such a way that the lowest cutting edge of the cutter bar 13 can be sharpened first. The cutter bar 6 is then inclined upwards The lowest cutting edge of the mowing knife 13 is the mowing bar 6 with the mowing knife 13 uni a Schn both pushed deeper. In this way, all the cutting edges on one side of the l-line knife 13 are ground. The pipe section i6 is then disengaged by pulling the holding frame 5 forward against the force of the spring 18 and re-engaged by pivoting the holding frame 5 by about 120 ° into the other grinding position, whereupon the same grinding process is carried out for the other side of the blades of the mower knife 13. During grinding, the holding frame 5 is held in place with heal lländen and pressed lightly against the grinding wheel 8 and thereby moved back and forth around the axis 3, pendulating a few degrees. This movement is limited by the pin i9, which can strike laterally in box grooves 2o (Fig. 4) This prevents complete rotation of the holding frame 5 about the axis 3. After grinding all the cutting edges of the mower knife 13, the holding frame 5 is opened again by pivoting the locking lever II to the side, opening the upper part and opening the knife bar 6 can be removed with the mower knife 13.
