Description
Flame tube of combustion chambers, especially for gas turbines The invention relates to combustion chamber liner tubes, particularly for use in gas turbine engines.
The development of gas turbines has meant that the combustion chambers have to be provided with devices which enable the walls to be cooled in order to avoid warping or damage caused by the intense heat generated in the combustion chambers. For this purpose, the flame tubes have usually been arranged with play on all sides in the combustion chamber and an air stream that cools the flame tube walls is passed through the annular space thus created. In addition, a film of air has been passed over the inside of the flame tube walls in order to insulate them to a certain extent from the heat of combustion. A known type of flame tube has several coaxially arranged one behind the other ring parts, the inlet cross section of which is greater than the outlet cross section of the ring parts in front of them in the direction of the inlet end of the flame tube. The ends of the adjacent ring parts are pushed a little over one another and are held in the correct position to each other by spacers which are arranged in the annular gap between the ends of the ring parts lying one above the other that coat the inner wall of the individual ring parts.
A known embodiment of such spacers consists of inwardly indented parts of the edges of one of the ring parts. These dents are pressed in so deep that it is exactly on the surface of the other part of the ring hang up. However, they have the disadvantage that they allow the flowing in through the annular gap Partial air flow at these points do not allow a passage, so that immediately behind every such dent a strip of the wall shielded from the partial air flow is present, which runs the risk of being overheated and therefore destroyed at an early stage can be.
Another known type of spacer is a corrugated one Sheet metal strip that goes all around in the annular gap between the Emden of the ring parts of the Flame tube is inserted and for the purpose of its attachment to! The ring parts wider must be than the length by which the two ring parts are pushed over one another. This type of construction has the advantage that the partial air flow is essentially undisturbed can enter to the inside of the ring parts, but it brings additional structural weight and increases the number of attachment points required for assembling the fire tubes required are.
These disadvantages are avoided by the invention. she consists in that the spacers are made of sheet metal, which is much thinner than that The width of the annular gap between the ends of the ring parts pushed one on top of the other, whose main surfaces are approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the flame tube and the at least on one side of in the edge or near the edge of the one Ring part provided openings are attached to this so that the part of the Spacer, which is attached to the other ring part, opposite the opening, In the drawing the invention is illustrated by way of example, namely Fig. i a longitudinal section through a combustion chamber from which the overlapping Ring parts can be seen, and Fig. 2 to 4 perspective views of various Embodiments of spacers on a larger scale.
As can be seen from Fig. I, the flame tube 1o is in the housing i i arranged that the air flowing in at the front end of the combustion chamber (see the arrows) can flow through the annular space between these two parts. The flame tube consists of several coaxially arranged, essentially cylindrical Parts 12, 13 and 14, which are getting larger in the direction of flow and each one Pieces are pushed one on top of the other. The diameters of the individual parts are dimensioned in such a way that that ring gaps 15 remain between the parts of the ring parts pushed one on top of the other, through which part of the cooling air brushing the outside of the flame tube into the Inside the flame tube can enter. The individual ring parts 12 "13 and i4, des Flame tube 1o are held by spacers 16 in the correct position to each other.
The spacer 16 shown in FIG. 2, which the ring parts 12 and 13 connects to one another, is formed by a web that is punched out one lying parallel to the edge 18 of the ring part 13, with rounded ends Slot 17 is created. This web is U-shaped according to 11111: 1i pressed and touched with its crosspiece d, - <i ring part 12. The spacer is here with the Part of the ring from which it is formed by pressing, connected only in one direction, d: e is perpendicular to that of the air flow.
By means of several such on the edge 18 of the ring part 13 distributed Spacers 16, the end of the smaller ring part 12 is in the correct position, held to the ring part 13. The connection d., R spacers with the ring part 1.2 can be done by welding, riveting or in some other way at point i9, d'ie by pressing out the spacer ici in the ring part wall The resulting opening is easily accessible.
It is readily apparent that the cooling air entering through the annular gap 15 is practically not hindered by the spacer 16 and therefore also provides good cooling of the inner surface immediately behind the spacer 13. An essential feature of this spacer is that it (11e same tick: as the wall of the ring part 13. From which it is made "has" and therefore offers little resistance to the air flow sweeping around it. In the embodiment shown in FIG. are provided, which on both sides of special openings or gaps punched out of the edge of the ring part 13 are fastened to the ring part h: °. The openings 21 again allow easy fastening of the spacers previously fastened to the ring part 13 to the ring part 12 at the locations indicated by 191. The spacers are preferably made of sheet metal that has the same strength rke has like the ring part wall, but in any case Nv is significantly thinner than the annular gap is wide in order to hinder the air flow as little as possible. Instead of individual spacers, a corrugated sheet metal strip can be provided, as shown in dash-dotted lines in FIG are provided.
However, the embodiments shown in Fig. 3 are not perfectly satisfactory because the spacers are special parts. she can, however, be made narrower and therefore lighter than the known ones corrugated spacers because they are due to the presence of the openings or Gaps 21 need not protrude beyond the edge of the ring parts.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4, there is a spacer 162 from two tongues. by punching out an L-shaped slot 172 111 dem Ring part 13 and a same slot 22 in the ring part 12 are formed. the the tongue located on the larger diameter ring part 13 is bent inward. while the tongue on (lein ring part 12 is bent outwards animal. The two tongues are joined at 192 tied together. By the Bending the tongue of the ring part 13 creates the opening in the wall of the ring part 13, through which the tools needed to tie the two tongues to the tongue can approach.
It goes without saying that instead of spacers as shown in Fig. 2 and 3 are shown, which consist of one piece with the larger ring part 13 or were first attached to this, also those can be provided that consist of one piece with the smaller ring part 12 or are attached to these T first and then naturally present it to the outside world. It is also possible both types to provide spacers and these either to be arranged alternately or interlocked to let, like this with the in 1 # ig. 4 is the case with the type of ball shown.
For the rest, the spacers do not necessarily have to be at the extreme Edge of the ring parts are provided "For example, the one shown in FIG Web, one edge of which through the edge 18 of the ring part and the other edge is formed by .the slot 17, thereby further covered that one provides two slots and the web remaining between them indented inward.
Of course, the application of the invention is not restricted to fire tubes limited to a circular cross-section, but can just as well be called such Use finite annular or nielite circular cross-section, although flame tubes generally have a circular cross-section. Apart from this, changes to the described Types of construction according to shape, size and arrangement of the parts possible without the Leave the scope of the invention zti needs to be.
