Description
Process for the production of multilayer glass composites or glasses with other bodies in addition to an elastic intermediate layer made of polymerization products The invention relates to a method for producing multilayer composites of glasses or glasses with other bodies, especially glasses with irregular ones Surface. In the usual production of safety glass, the glass surfaces by means of plastic films or polymerizing monomeric plastic solutions with one another tied together. The composites obtained in this way, however, often contain tensions that equal their Affect strength and safety.
The occurrence of these disruptive stresses is based on the fact that the polymerization proceeds with a reduction in volume. So the density of the polymers z. B. from 0.95 to 1.20. Are therefore z. B. pipes made of multilayer safety glass with a thickness of the intermediate layer of 1.5 mm, the shrinkage of the intermediate layer is 0.25 mm. Considerable stresses therefore arise, which can lead to breakage of the glass parts or to vacuoles, ie evacuated bubbles. The same phenomena occur when glass panes with an irregular surface are combined with one another. If, for example, the task is to preserve the stained glass of a church window by applying a cover pane using the multilayer safety glass process, the distance between the cover pane and the often undulating colored glass pane with burned-in black solder and sand grain inclusions changes from 0.5 to 3 mm. When the cover pane is polymerized on, the reduction in volume of the intermediate layer is therefore approximately 0.1 mm at the thinnest point and approximately 0.5 mm at the thickest point. As practice has shown, the tensions that arise to compensate for these various contractions often lead to the breakage of the valuable church windows, which have been brittle due to centuries of exposure, condensation and ventilation. The occurrence of the stresses could be avoided by plasticizing the film placed between the colored glass pane and the cover pane by absorbing plasticizer to such an extent that it fills the entire space, which varies from 0.5 to 3 mm. But then a partly film-like, solid, partly soft and greasy intermediate layer is created which, due to its inhomogeneity, does not ensure that the colored glass adheres firmly to the cover pane everywhere.
In contrast, according to the invention, it succeeds in this way completely stress-free, firmly united composites. to achieve that the-space between the bodies to be united, e.g. B. the glasses, initially with a mixture of Plasticizers are filled with already polymerized, powdery plastic, whereupon the glasses are combined with the intermediate layer by heating to form a composite will. By using already polymerized plastic, which reduces the volume has already learned, the occurrence of the disturbing voltages is certain avoided so that it is now z. B. also in the production of hollow glasses Multi-layer safety glass and when using glass panes with irregular designed surfaces is possible to achieve tension-free bonds.
The method according to the invention can in particular at substantially , running in one plane, albeit with an irregular surface Glass panes are made in such a way that in the space between the Glasses are first made of a film of polymerized plastic and plasticizer whereupon the remaining space is replaced by an identically or similarly composed one Mixture of plasticizers and already polymerized, powdery plastic filled and panes and intermediate layer finally to achieve the bond be heated together.
The derivatives are particularly suitable for the process according to the invention polyacrylic acid, 1'olymethaerylic acid and polyvinyl acetals.
The process can be used in the manufacture of safety glass panes and in the production of safety hollow glasses, e.g. B. glass tubes, lamp bells for miner's lamps, protective bells of other types, and curved windshields use Find.
The process can also be used to cover works of art, Use exhibits or preparations using the safety glass method, for example for the preservation of stained glass, pieces of tissue, flowers, butterflies or botanical, zoological and medicinal preparations.
Shall have parallel glass plates with an uneven surface after the new one Processes are combined so can be made between the panes instead of a film already polymerized plastic also has a film made from not yet fully polymerized Plastic are brought, so that only the remaining spaces with a mixture of the same but already polymerized plastic and Plasticizers are filled. In the subsequent heating then takes place as a result the presence of the film made of unpolymerized plastic and plasticizer a reduction in volume takes place, but this is harmless because it covers the whole Verbund is done evenly and because it is through appropriate shifting of the Slices against each other full: can be balanced.
