Process for the production of type image carriers, in particular male molds
So-called male molds are often used for use in line typesetting and printing machines
required, d. H. Typeface carriers, where the typeface is raised
is. While matrices, i.e. H. Typeface carrier with recessed typeface,
how they z. B. for line casting machines are required, the typeface in simple
Way by embossing in a metal body, preferably a brass blanket
can, a production of male molds by embossing is very difficult, if not
impossible, since when using a material of a strength as it is for
the other purposes, in particular the guidance of the typeface carrier in the machine,
is necessary, a sharp embossing is not achievable. The present invention
now eliminates this disadvantage and creates a patrix in which, despite its production
made of a material that can withstand all stresses during use
a sharp image is achieved. For this purpose, according to the invention, the Schriftbil.dträger
at the point where the typeface is to be attached with a recess
and a metal introduced into this .by spraying or pressing, which as a result of its
special properties is suitable for embossing. Preferably that will
Typeface not by embossing, but at the same time as filling in the recess
manufactured by injection molding.
When using the male molds in a line typesetting and printing machine,
that of a well-known
Liniengießmasclii @ ne is modeled, can
a correspondingly processed die intended for such a machine is called
Use the mold for splashing the typeface.
The invention gives the possibility through the use of two different
Materials for the male body and the typeface to these two parts
to meet the divergent requirements of the male part.
In beiden Fällen handelt
It is already known that with typesetting matrices: the typeface
supporting body a, z. B. to provide dovetail-shaped recess. and
in to insert this a fitting that contains a typeface or in the one
Typeface is imprinted. It has also been suggested in manufacture
of matrices made of a very hard material, e.g. B. steel, at the point at which
the typeface is attached -, n should, a softer material, e.g. B. brass,
use in order to be able to carry out the embossing sharply. Acts in both cases
But it is about the production of matrices in which the typeface is embossed
is produced, while the present invention is male molds,
by stamping a material suitable for the male body
sharp typeface cannot be achieved.
Fig. i in Richtung der Linie 2-2.The drawing shows, as an example, an embodiment of the invention for
a male mold that corresponds to a known line typesetting and casting machine
Machine should be used; namely Fig. i is a vertical section through
the device for producing such a patrix and FIG. 2 is a section
Fig. I in the direction of line 2-2.
nachgebildeten Maschine arbeiten soll.
In the drawing, a is a setting machine die which essentially
has its usual shape, but in which a part of the picture above is cut away so far
is that the top edge is roughly in line with the bottom edge of the back upper ear
is on the same level. Further is the front lower ear and a. subsequent
Part of the die body cut away by the amount g so that the upper surface
dl of the resulting recess is at the same height as when the
Die in the setting machine that serves as a stop for the lower front ears
Ruler is set. The male part to be produced is denoted by b. she consists
from a body, e.g. B. made of brass, the outer shape of which is completely the shape
corresponds to a setting machine die, since the male part is in a setting machine
simulated machine should work. As a result of the recesses on the top and
lower side of the die a can be provided with the typeface between
the anterior ears of the patrix b penetrate and lie against it.
Matrize a gegenüberliegenden Stelle eine Aus-
sparung la, vorzugsweise in Schwalbenschwanzform,
Patrize.
Natürlich kann die Aussparung für das Ein-
spritzen des Schriftmetalls eine beliebige Form
haben. Auch kann man sie mit irgendwelchen Ein-
richtungen, z. B. Abschrägungen oder Vertiefungen,
versehen, um ein besseres Haften des eingespritzten
'Metalls herbeizuführen.
Das Ausrichten der Patrize b gegenüber der
Matrize a beim Einspritzen geschieht genau in der
gleichen Weise, in der in der Setz- bzw. Druck-
gleichen Weise verwenden.
An Stelle einer Setzmaschinenmatrize kann auch
eine andere Schriftbildform verwendet werden. In
Die and patrix are clamped in a mold, which consists of a plate k and one on the plate, for. B. by screws, fixed angular piece c consists. A guide cl is provided on the angle piece c, on which a plate d Vz-sLl is stored in a lovable manner. This plate settles
against the back of the patrix tind serves to
Hold the matrix and the patrix against each other. Around
to adjust the height of the patrix
can, is on the plate d a slide e in one
Guide e1 mounted displaceably. This slide
reaches under the with a nose in the working position
posterior upper ear of the patrix. By pressing
the plate d against the elbow c and lifting
the slide e becomes a perfect alignment
of the patrix opposite the '@latrize reached, whereby
the anterior lower ear of the patrix against the
Area dl of the die. The die a becomes
against a shift by one between theirs
rear ears bordering adapter f held.
In the patrix you can find the typefaces of the
Die at the opposite point an
saving la, preferably in dovetail shape,
provided, and against those of the plate k opposite-
the lying side wall of the matrix and patrix
a pouring mouth i like that. that its injection opening il
is at the point of the recess 7c . The casting
mouth presses die and patrix tightly against the
Plate k. If now through the pouring mouth i a
suitable 3letall, preferably font metal, under
Pressure is injected, so the recess Ia
filled in and at the same time on the 'die a'
the turned side has a raised typeface
gos, sen. Since the injected 1Vletall is firmly attached to
the body preferably made of brass
the patrix connects, is created in this way
one with a sharp typeface
Patrix.
Of course, the recess for the
spray the writing metal any shape
to have. You can also use them with any input
directions, e.g. B. bevels or depressions,
provided in order to better adhere the injected
'Bring about metal.
Aligning the male part b with respect to the
Die a during injection happens exactly in the
in the same way as in the setting or printing
machine the patrixes opposite the machine
be aligned. Of course it is directed
the alignment according to the machine in which
the male part is to be used.
The invention is preferably used for the
position of patrices thought, but it can be
also for other types of typeface carriers in the
use same way.
Instead of a setting machine die,
a different typeface form can be used. In
in this case one brings the stops for that
Align to the mold itself.
