Description

The invention relates to an automatic clutch for mining vehicles and similar railway vehicles with coupling members designed as hook and eye.

The essence of the invention is that hook and eye from the Seen from the side, have an angular shape, with the legs pointing downwards the angle are designed as counterweights.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention. Fig.i Fig. 2 is a partial end view of the trolley, Fig. 2 is the associated side view on average; Fig. 3 shows, on a larger scale, the facing ends of the Trolley with a coupling hook and eye, in the coupled state, while Fig. 4 is a corresponding representation when uncoupling.

The coupling hook i and the coupling eye 2 are angular when viewed from the side. The legs a and b of hook i and eyelet 2, which are vertical in Fig. 2 and 3, are designed as counterweights and thus enable the legs c and d of hooks i and eyelet 2 to be in a horizontal position at all times. Each of the two is on one of the Underside of the buffer plate cast cam N articulated by means of bolts. When the wagons collide (Fig. 4), the eyebolt f first slides over the upper edge of the hook i and then falls into the opening of the coupling hook i. When the carriages move away from each other again (Fig. 3), hook i and eye 2 couple automatically. Since the counterweights a, b always endeavor to bring the legs c and d back to their old horizontal position due to their force of gravity, it is impossible to disengage by themselves. When the coupling is unhooked, the carriages are pushed towards one another as shown in Figure 4. Here the eyebolt f presses against the edge g of the hook i. Since the counterweight b of the eyelet 2 is heavier than that of the hook i, the hook will always yield to the pressure first. Since the edge g is lower than the pivot point of the hook i, the hook is always lifted downwards and thus its counterweight a in the direction of the arrow: e into the horizontal position. A safety device operated by means of a hand crank h by 1 / a turn from both sides of the car holds the counterweight a of the hook i in the raised horizontal position so that it can swing back into the vertical position under its force of gravity.
