Extinguishing chamber switch When extinguishing arcs. has a

This extinguishing process is carried out with an extinguishing chamber switch with one of the rooms
higher pressure liquid flow passing into a space of lower pressure,
caused by a differential pump piston arranged in the extinguishing chamber
is, and a movable switch contact, which is on its the resting switch contact

has, in cooperation with the chamber lid, an additional extinguishing flow
to be controlled by the movable hollow contact from the chamber, according to the invention
achieved that the differential pumping piston before the interaction of the movable
Switching contact provided lateral openings with the chamber lid surrounding it
a flow of the total extinguishing agent delivered through both the resting and
also through the movable hollow contact. The direction of the extinguishing flow
one will advantageously choose so that it follows the movable contact. on
this way (as opposed to a
known arrangement, at
the extinguishing flow through both the resting. as well as through the movable hollow contact
is promoted) prevents the arc through the extinguishing flow in the solid

Scorchings arise. For this purpose, the solid hollow contact in the chamber space
arranged with decreasing volume. So with certainty, also an arc extinguishing
occurs if for any reason. a piston escapement is present, so
the differential piston does not work, there is a duct system in the cover of the pressure chamber:

This arc extinction has an effect on the low-liquid extinguishing chamber switches
standing quenching chamber. The exemplary embodiment shows such a design.
In
The fixed hollow contact b and the are located in the quenching chamber a
: movable hollow contact c with the lateral outlet opening d. The fixed contact
is surrounded by the chamber e made of insulating material, which the passage opening
for movable and fixed contact. Is concentric to this chamber
the differential piston f arranged. Located in the closing body of the pressure chamber
the sewer system g. When the contacts open, the one generated by the arc will be
Transfer pressure through the hollow contacts to both piston surfaces, so that the same
starts moving. The piston, moving downwards, presses the extinguishing agent
through the fixed hollow contact along the arc axis through the movable
Hollow contact through the side openings in the room with increasing volume. In
the moment when the movable contact: leaves chamber e, the arc stands,
if-. it has not yet been deleted by this point in time, under the influence
which increases through the passage opening of the chamber e directly in the room
Volume onset of extinguishing flow. Since .this passage opening as a constriction
on the. Arc acts, it is at its weakest point of the
full extinguishing agent flow. So it is at this moment at the latest
an arc quenching can be expected. Should against expectation; n the differential piston
have not responded, it is still possible to extinguish the arc
the interaction of the movable hollow contact c with that in the lid of the pressure chamber
attached duct system, which allows an onset of the extinguishing flow before
the movable contact has left the pressure chamber.
