Gegenstände aus der erfindungsgemäßen Masse können für die verschiedensten Zwecke, insbesondere in der Elektrotechnik, vorteilhaft verwendet werden. Die Tonerde kann in calcinierter oder geschmolzener Form zugegeben werden. Im letzteren Fall ist für ausreichende Vermahlung Sorge zu tragen. Die Masse läßt sich im Trockenpreßverfahren leicht verarbeiten und gibt einen dichten homogenen Scherben. Die durch den Zusatz von Tonerde bedingte geringe Erhöhung der Brenntemperatur kann mit Rücksicht auf die erzielten Verbesserungen- der Festigkeits- und Isolationseigenschaften nicht als nachteilig angesehen werden, da sich die erfindungsgemäße Masse ohne weiteres in den vorhandenen bzw. gebräuchlichen Porzellanöfen brennen läßt.According to the present invention, a ceramic mass which consists of sericite alone or of a mixture with talc or other substances is improved by the addition of alumina.
