@ Ferner kennt man
Process for the production of sulfonic acids or their salts It is
known that by, sulfonation of higher molecular weight aliphatic alcohols to
corresponding sulfuric acid esters, the water-soluble salts of which are surface-active
Have properties and represent substitute substances. @ You also know
also already corresponding alkylsulfonic acids, in which the sulfonic acid group @ e directly
is bonded to a carbon atom and its salts are also surface-active
Represent compounds and form soap substitutes. The sulfuric acid ester salts mentioned
have the disadvantage that they are relatively sensitive to acids, so that one
it in acidic solution after prolonged exposure, for example in carbonizing baths
or in the sour fuller when making felt hats. Even
the well-known Turkish red oils have this disadvantage. The alkyl sulfonic acid salts
do not show this disadvantage, but they are very heavy, especially in hard water
soluble and for this reason only usable to a limited extent.
Man verestert hierzu
It has now been found that one leads to a rather new group of valuable sulfonic acids
or their salts are obtained if polyvalent or unsaturated ones are obtained by esterification
monohydric alcohols with hydrohalic acid and reaction of the esters obtained
with Al'kalisulfiten produces sulfonic acid or its salts, which by one of the sulfonic acid group
not immediately adjacent hydroxyl group are substituted. One esterifies this
a hydroxyl group of the alcohols with hydrohalic acid, sets the ester with
Alkali sulfites to alkyl sulfonic acid or salts thereof and optionally leads to
remaining double bonds through hydration hydroxyl groups. the
Esterification with hydrohalic acid, the reaction of the esters with alkali sulfites
and the hydration at the double bond take place according to processes known per se.
