in Schuhcremes, Bohnermassen USW. zu kristallisieren.Process for the production of valuable products from montan wax montan wax obtained by treatment with oxidizing agents in an acidic solution, e.g. B. with chlorine, chromic acid, air, in the presence of nitric acid etc. g ° has been bleached, due to its high content of free organic acids, the tendency when using z. B. in shoe polishes, floor polishes, etc. to crystallize.
Anliydride usw. überführen. It has now been found that this disadvantage can be eliminated if
the carboxyl groups (COOH) of the montan wax bleached in the above-mentioned manner
contained free organic acids in a further stage in whole or in part
converted into salts or other groups containing the complex (CO), in the case of
the formation of esters only those with polyhydric alcohols come into consideration.
For example, some of the acids can be converted into their alkali metal salts
esterify them in whole or in part with ethylene or butylene glycol, glycerine, etc.
or completely or partially in amides or their substitution products or ketones,
Transfer anliydride, etc.
Säuren in Salze stattfindet.
The resulting new products show the above-mentioned disadvantage
not and can be used with particular advantage, <1a they can be used by a
good emulsifiability. It is known to use raw montan wax in the presence of
Treat alkalis with oxygen under increased pressure, except for a saponification
bleaching occurs at the same time as the montan wax. There are also various
Bleaching methods known in the literature, in which in part a transfer of
Acids takes place in salts. It is mentioned, however, that by treatment
products obtained from montan wax with bleaching agents with simultaneous salt formation
at best only represent brown-colored waxes.
B. in Schuhcremes, Bohnermassen usw.
Wachs. In contrast, excellent light-colored, hard waxes are obtained in the procedure described at the outset, and saponification of wax esters does not occur here, since these have already been split up during the previous bleaching in acidic solution. It has also already been proposed to esterify montan wax, which has been bleached by steam distillation and has a content of about 70% montanic acid in addition to saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons, with glycerine. A montan wax that has been bleached by treatment with oxidizing agents, in particular chromic acid. a different composition compared to the product which has been bleached by distillation of water; In addition to montanic acids, it also contains other higher fatty acids, resin acids and alcohols. The esterification products of this wax, however, have the advantage that they are much harder and odorless and also have a considerably higher oil-forming capacity, which makes these products particularly suitable for use in shoe creams, floor polishes, etc. Example 100 parts of montan wax bleached by treatment with chromic acid are treated with a solution of 2 parts of sodium carbonate or potassium hydroxide in 5 parts of water until all the water has evaporated, or heated to about 200 ° with 25 parts of glycerol in an autoclave the glycerol is at least partially esterified, or heated with gaseous ammonia in an autoclave for 5 hours at 2oo °, whereby acid amides are formed. In all of these cases, a wax is obtained which no longer shows a tendency to crystallize and, when used, for. B. in shoe polishes, floor polishes, etc. results in a good bond. The yields on treatment with soda or potassium hydroxide are 10 to 10 parts, with glycerine 10 lines and with ammonia 100 parts of wax.
