Soll die Figurenkarte wirken, so erfolgt der Aufgang der Lade in gewöhnlicher Weise, desgleichen die Wechselung der Kartenkette (Stellung Fig. 13); beim Niedergang der Lade erfolgt jedoch die Ausrückung des die Walze drehenden Fanghakens, damit beim nächsten Aushub, wo die Karte als blinde wirken soll, keine Drehung der Walze erfolgt (Stellung nach Fig. 14). Beim abermaligen Aushub der Lade wird gleichzeitig die Metallkarte vorgeschoben (Stellung Fig. 15), so dafs beim Niedergang der Lade, wobei die Drehungsvorrichtung für die Walze wieder eingerückt wird, die blinde Kartenwirkung erzielt wird (Stellung Fig. 16). Dabei stehen beide Platinen in ihrem unteren Standpunkt, wobei die Metallplatte ebenfalls unten steht. In dieser Normalstellung würde nun Platine a¹ beim Hub des Messerkorbes gehoben werden, wenn die Nadel f¹ nicht zurückgedrückt wird; geschieht letzteres aber in bekannter Weise beim Niederschlagen der Walze g nach Pfeil/⁸, so wird durch Hebel f" die Platine a² vor das Messer geschoben und Platine a^l von demselben gedrückt. Durch das Heben der Platine α^l bewegt sich die Schnur x⁴ von Rolle x² nach Rolle y^l hin nach Pfeil/⁹ und dreht dabei Rolle x'^z nach Pfeil/¹⁰. Auf derselben Achse von x² sitzt aber auch die Rolle x³, an welcher eine Schnur χ^δ befestigt, welche über eine Rolle \ nach der Platte d hinläuft bezw. an derselben in irgend einer Weise befestigt ist. Durch die gemeinsame Drehung der Rollen x² und x³ nach Pfeil f¹⁰ bezw. der dadurch erzeugten Bewegung der Schnur χ ⁵ erfolgt demnach die Hebung der Platte. Damit diese Hebung gleichmäfsig geschieht, ist der hebende Mechanismus auf beiden Seiten der Platte angebracht.
