Bei Maschinen dieser Art entstehen Schwierigkeiten dadurch, daß der durch die Form hindurchgeführte Stempel nicht bis auf den Schachtelboden niedergeht, sondern in Höhe des oberen Randes der Schachtel zum Stillstand kommt. Es ist natürlich aus diesem Grunde besonders schwierig, wenn nicht sogar unmöglich, mit dem Stempel Faltmittel zu verbinden, welche einerseits das Einschieben des in die Hüllpapiere eingelegten Gutes in die. Dieser Nachteil wird jedoch vermieden, wenn in weiterer Ausbildung des Erfindungsgegenstandes ein vorzugsweise nach Art eines gekrümmten Fingers ausgebildeter Hebel vorgesehen ist, dessen eines Ende zum vorübergehenden Niederhalten des Zipfels dient. Die neue Lage der Schachtel geht aus der Abb. i hervor. Man sieht, wie die Schachtel dort auf dem Arbeitstisch i aufruht und wie der Stempel noch auf den Inhalt der Schachtel einen gewissen Preßdruck ausübt. Aus Abb. i sind ferner die hochstehenden Zipfel der Hüllpapiere 8 und 9 ersichtlich. Damit das Schachtelinnere in seiner ganzen Ausdehnung während der nun erfolgenden Verschiebung unter der Deckplatte 2 offen liegt, muß der in Fortschreiterichtung vorn liegende Zipfel des Hüllpapieres 8 so weit niedergefaltet werden, daB er unter die durch die Platte 2 gekennzeichriete waagerechte Ebene hinabreicht. Der rückwärtige Zipfel des Papieres 8 wird selbständig durch die Platte :2 in .die gewünschte Lage übergeführt, und die Zipfel des Papieres 9 brauchen überhaupt nicht eine ähnliche Faltung zu erfahren, weil die Abdeckplatte 2 lediglich .die Breite der Schachtel aufweist. Zum Niederfalten des Zipfels ist nun erfindungsgemäß eine schräg von oben her genäherte Platte angeordnet. Beim Ausführungsbeispiel wird die Bewegung schräg von oben . her durch folgende Anordnung erreicht: Die Platte 14, die zweckmäßig nur geringe Dicke aufweist und beispielsweise aus Blech besteht, ist an der dem zu faltenden Zipfel benachbarten Stirnseite des Faltstempels gelenkig gelagert, und zwar, wie Abb. 3 zeigt, bei 16, d. h. etwa in Höhe der Stempeloberkante. Das freie Ende 15 der Platte ist in Fortschreiterichtung der Schachtel zurückgebogen, und eine Druckfeder 17, welche sich einerseits am freien Ende 15 der Platte, andererseits an der Stange i i des Stempels abstützt, sorgt dafür, daß der unterhalb des Gelenkes 16 befindliche Teil der Platte 14 an der Stirnfläche des Stempels anliegt.
