Die humosen Stoffe sind von der Natur aus besonders dazu geeignet, wachstumsfördernd zu wirken. Sie enthalten Reizstoffe, die den Kreislauf der Bodensubstanz günstig beeinflussen. Im Walde wirken die im Herbst abfallenden Blätter zunächst als Reiz- und Treibmittel und als Anreger und Förderer der Bakterientätigkeit.
