Process for the production of soaps or high molecular weight fatty acids

Bestandteile, z.

If the crude oxidation products are used, they can be treated with aqueous solutions, which are alkaline

Oxidation products with the alkaline solutions mentioned are expediently carried out in

Water is heated to 225 ° in a closed stirred autoclave, whereby a pressure of 30 ät is established. After the saponification, the oxidation product is passed under this pressure through a pipe connected to the autoclave, in which it: is heated to 32o °. The product is then expanded through a valve into a vessel heated to about 350 ", from which the vapors pass through a transition pipe into a cooler, where they are condensed.
