Bei Tunnel- oder unterirdischen Streckenbahnen ist es von wesentlichem Vortheil, wenn
die Höhe der Strecken so niedrig wie möglich gemacht werden kann, weil diese meistens im

■Die Schwelle α besteht aus Winkeleisen

die Breite dieser Ausschnitte d gleich derjenigen des Schienenfufses f. Die Schiene, welche in
diesen Ausschnitten gelagert ist, wird darin vermittels eines konischen Stahlstiftes e festgeklemmt.
Dieser Stift ist einmal durch den Winkel w der Scheibe a, in dem er liegt,
nach oben gesichert und dann geht er durch den Steg s 1 der Schiene s hindurch und liegt
auf dem Fufs f derselben auf. Dadurch ist die Schiene vollständig fest und sicher an der

und eine solche Tiefe ausgeschnitten ist, dafs ein den Schienensteg dicht am Fufse der
Schiene durchdringender konischer Stahlstift (e) an der inneren Winkelseite der Querschwelle,
