Description
Process for splitting hydrocarbon oils It has been found .that you get a high yield of low-boiling products from high-boiling hydrocarbon oils obtained by cleavage if one is in the liquid phase and in the presence of fine-grained, especially in the materials to be treated, finely divided metals of the 2nd bare 4. Group of the periodic table or the iron group or those oxides as catalysts at temperatures above 350 ° and advantageously under increased pressure, e.g. B. 4o at and higher, works -and the starting materials organic halogen compounds, expedient during and or or after heating, in one or more stages, is added. Compared to the use of free hydrogen halide, the organic Halogeazverbindungen have the advantage that they do not lead to undesired polymerizations and damage to the Lead apparatus; in addition, the amount present during the reaction can be free Hydrogen halide more easily measured.
As metals used as such or in the form of their oxides, zinc, magnesium and iron are the most common; but you can also z. B. Use cobalt, nickel, titanium, silicon or tin. The catalysts can. also on carriers, such. B. activated and "acid voir-treated grude, charcoal and the like, or active silica, can be applied. They are ground into finely-a State added to the starting material, generally in amounts of about o, o 5 to 5% or more. The starting material mixed with the catalyst is now expedient in gas-heated tubes at temperatures of 35o to 700 °, advantageously 400 to 55o °, heated and then passed into the reaction chamber, the diameter of which is advantageously larger than that of the heating pipes.
Als AusgangsstoEe verwendet man Teere, Mineralöle beliebiger Herkunft, ExtraktionspTodukte oder Druckhydrierungspro, dukte von Kohlen, Teeren oder Mineralölen oder Fraktionen, dieser Stoffe, vorteilhaft Schweröle oder Mittelöle.Tars, mineral oils of any origin are used as starting materials, Extraction products or pressure hydrogenation products of carbons, tars or mineral oils or fractions of these substances, advantageously heavy oils or middle oils.
As soon as the starting material to be treated has assumed a temperature of more than 35o °, the organic Halogenvarbindungen such. B. carbon tetrachloride or chlorine, bromine or iodine compounds of benzene are added. This can occur during the heating z. B. at 350, 400 or 450 °, or above or only when entering the reaction vessel. The organic halogen compounds can also be added in several stages.
It is known, elements of the 2nd to B groups of the periodic table or to use organic halogen compounds as cleavage catalysts, however is. the joint use of finely divided metals of the 2nd or 4th group or the iron group or their oxides and organic halogen compounds not described. The use of the latter, however, activates the metallic or oxide catalysts, whereby one that goes beyond the individual effects Effect is achieved.
Furthermore, aluminum chloride and iron chloride together with nitrosyl chloride have also been proposed as catalyzers. In contrast to this, in the present case organic halogen compounds are used together with certain finely divided metal or metal oxides, a particularly good splitting effect being achieved. Example A topped crude oil from spec. Weight 0.935, which contains 60 to 325 ° boiling portion, is mixed with 0.20 / 6 finely divided iron, glass obtained by reducing iron oxide. It is then at in pipes on q.50 ° heated under a pressure of 50 and passed as the heating tubes in the reaction vessel by further du diameter. Before entering the reaction vessel, 0.1% carbon tetrachloride is added to the oil. The products are in a standing under 5 at. Separator directed. In this case, 32% of high-boiling oils are separated out, based on products that can be cotndensable, which can be used as heating oil. The products which are withdrawn in vapor form in an amount of 68% are condensed fractionally. 28% gasoline and 40% medium oil are obtained.
If instead of the finely divided iron, iron oxide is used in the same way Amount with otherwise unchanged working conditions, .so is obtained, based on condensable Products, 37% high-boiling oils and 630/6 vapor-withdrawing products. The latter result in the distillation 23% gasoline and 40 0/0 medium oil.
Under the same conditions, however, one obtains a corresponding one when using it Amount of iron chloride in place of the iron oxide after a short time separations the walls of the instigator holding a bar; Termination of operations necessary do.
