Description
Process for preserving the natural composition of mineral, Table and medicinal waters A large number of mineral, table and body waters tarnish if the bottled water is stored for several days or weeks. These Turbidity is based on the precipitation of substances that were originally in clear solution are located. These substances are likely to precipitate in particular as a result of that the salts, such as iron salts, which are clearly dissolved in freshly bottled water from the spring and others, later oxidizing, becoming insoluble and in the formation of precipitates perhaps other salts also precipitate. As a result, the water loses its natural Composition; for a more or less large part of its original The content of dissolved components is now on the bottom as sediment the bottle and is not drunk by the customer or patient. That changed so Accordingly, as far as it is a medicinal water, water can no longer either exert the biological or therapeutic effects resulting from the -fresh from the Water taken from the source. Because its healing effect is based on its integrity its solute content.
The decomposition that occurs when the water is stored due to precipitation Previously dissolved constituents have been tried to prevent by opening the bottles Rinsed with carbonic acid before filling. However, these attempts were unsuccessful. On the other hand, with some types of water it is possible to achieve an occurrence during storage Turbidity due to the artificial removal of the entire iron content of the water avoid. It is clear that after such a deep intervention in the original Composition of the water can no longer be said that it is still is a natural spring water, especially since this process is carried out at the same time almost all of the carbonic acid initially contained in the water is removed with the iron and must be artificially pressed in again afterwards.
The same is true for the well-known suggestions by adding organic ones Acids to prevent the precipitation of the iron salts. The necessary Quantities are so large that the hydrogen ion concentration of the natural water strongly shifted into the acidic pl-i range and thus the character of the water is completely changed. - On the other hand, the Addition of these acids does not prevent the dissolved iron salts, which originally exist in two-way form, during storage .z. B. already under the foot of the dissolved oxygen in the water change into the trivalent form. Since now the physiological effect of the bivalent Iron a completely different one is than that of the trivalent, represents the oxidation taking place during storage from bivalent to trivalent iron a possibly decisive change the therapeutic effectiveness of natural spring water, although in itself a precipitation of the iron salts through the addition of organic acids is prevented.
This also applies to experiments by adding glucose and glyoxal and similar substances to stabilize iron. By adding large Quantities of these substances succeed in causing the dissolved iron salts to precipitate somewhat to diminish. A prevention of the oxidation of the iron and thus a preservation The natural composition of the spring water can, however, be caused by the substances mentioned can not be achieved, as it is not possible with these, with the hydrogen ion concentrations, which the mineral, table and medicinal waters have, have a reducing effect. this is only possible with a strongly alkaline reaction of the substances mentioned Water and at elevated temperature.
It has also been suggested, on the basis of physical effects, namely by increasing the viscosity or changing the surface tension of the spring water to stabilize the dissolved components. Apart from that of the fact that this does not prevent the divalent iron from being oxidized can and thus the natural composition of the water is not preserved by the addition of such substances, which the physical properties of the water fundamentally change the absorption capacity of water and its components fundamentally changed from the gastrointestinal canal into the blood and thus under certain circumstances the therapeutic effectiveness of the water is completely destroyed.
Hierzu sind i bis 2o mg Ascorbinsäure pro i ooo ccm Quellwasser erforderlich. The process forming the subject of the present invention for Preservation of the natural composition of mineral, table and medicinal waters through Preventing the precipitation of substances consists in leaving the spring water briefly before or during or immediately after the filling from the source into the bottle of ascorbic acid or a salt of ascorbic acid is added. The addition of ascorbic acid prevents it even if the water is stored for several months, the one that otherwise occurs after a few days Cloudiness and decomposition. For this purpose, 1 to 2o mg of ascorbic acid per 100 cc of spring water are required necessary. This amount can either be in solid form or in the pertinent Dissolved spring water or simple tap water or distilled water is added will. Fractions are sufficient for the solution of the ascorbic acid quantities in question one cubic centimeter of water.
The effect of ascorbic acid is that it i. the oxidation and the precipitation of the iron salts dissolved in the spring water, 2. the precipitation of others prevents dissolved components of the spring water and thus its natural composition receives. It is known that the ascorbic acid reducing effects on a whole Able to exercise series of metal salts, so z. B. on silver nitrate, uranyl acetate, Gold chloride and salts of selenious acid. However, these effects come in that The present method is not used, as it is not a component of the spring water should be reduced.
The strongly reducing effect of ascorbic acid not only occurs alkaline waters, but also with neutral or acidic waters, 'd. H. So that every natural spring water through this addition in its composition is obtained.
Reductone and reductic acid have the same effect as ascorbic acid. However, they must be added in an amount 50 to 100% greater than that of ascorbic acid.
