Description
It is known that for electrical devices certain contacts that are made of the actual Contact part (contact pole) and a contact carrier (ζ. Β. Spring) 'consist by cutting off of composite metal that carries a strip of precious metal on an infinite base, from which the contact pole is formed. The contacts are made by punching, embossing, bending, etc. in the usual or a special purpose customized shape made. The contact pole forms a formed by pressing, towards the rear too hollow elevation on the contact carrier. It has also already been suggested that the Contact poles serving part of the composite metal strip by upsetting or stamping . Thicken in order to increase the accumulation of precious metals at the actual contact pole, i.e. H. at the Place of greatest stress, without compromising the thickness of the precious metal coating to have to enlarge on the whole.
B. Blechen, Bändern, Drähten, Stäben, RohrenMost of the contacts made in this way point outside the actual Contact points precious metal in such quantities that for the price of the contacts and given the need to save precious metals are not inconsiderable. This is because it is for manufacturing reasons and with consideration of the accuracy of fit with the known methods it is not possible to make the noble metal strips with a width smaller than about 2 to 3 mm. In particular, narrow, butt-welded edge strips can only be used in this way be formed so that the noble metal strips are initially given a much greater width and then be cropped. This is necessary because, on the one hand, the edge strips are too narrow would warp when rolling out and on the other hand at the edges Roll cracks form that must be eliminated. So this path is with very large losses and correspondingly high costs. The purpose of the invention is to provide a method indicate the semi-finished product used to make such contacts in the form of z. B. Sheets, strips, wires, rods, tubes

Made of composite metal with a noble metal coating by stretching (e.g. rolling, drawing) a Manufacture composite metal blocks in such a way that the consumption of precious metal is reduced to the lowest possible level and the precious metal layers are only as small as possible Preserved dimensions and put in exactly the right place. This task is carried out according to of the invention using a subsequently chemically removable protective layer a co-welded metal solved that for the purpose ,, very narrow and / or thin layers on the base metal only in the necessary width and / or thickness and to get this in just the right place after removing the protective layer is attached so that it becomes a light cross-section of the composite metal block supplemented by editable routes. It is already known when editing of composite metal to weld on protective metal layers, which are chemically after processing removed. However, these etchable protective layers have so far been used without exception two purposes. Either it should make a thin work piece workable through it made by reinforcing it with the protective ■ metal layer, making it lighter can be rolled, pressed, drawn, bendable or even more solderable. Or the protective metal layer should provide mechanical protection for a thin layer of precious metal during machining against harmful influences from heat, abrasion, etc.
In contrast, in the method according to the invention, the protective layer becomes too used for a completely different and entirely new purpose. It enables in simpler and economically the production of semi-finished products with very narrow and thin precious metal layers that are applied to others Way could only be carried out in a very uneconomical and cumbersome manner. The protective layer does not serve to protect the item to make them workable in the first place through reinforcement or the precious metal coating to protect mechanically, but it is a means of cross-sectional design in the Meaning that with their help very narrow and thin editions from the outset only in the necessary width and thickness and in exactly the right place.
A suitable protective metal is one that can be used without damaging the base and of the noble metal chemically, e.g. B. by pickling or galvanic treatment, can be removed. Such a metal is in most cases, especially when it is lim base metals made of copper alloys acts, iron, of which such grades can expediently be selected, the rolling ■ match with the other components of the multilayer metal. The invention further comprises semifinished product produced by this method and from this semifinished product contacts made.
The invention makes it possible to use that used for making contacts To produce composite metal semi-finished products with very narrow precious metal supports, these supports to be arranged as raised full stripes on the surface of the base and also very narrow precious metal edge stripes directly to produce in the desired width of bleaches or ribbons. According to The composite metal blocks prepared for the process can be used without any special precautionary measures be rolled out without the narrow precious metal strips receiving edge cracks or shifting at an angle.
From the semi-finished product with raised precious metal ribs, contacts with arched Contact poles are made. The raised precious metal ribs can be used as guides for the pressing and cutting tool serve so that the correct position of the tape in the tool is maintained at all times can be and guarantee is given that the highest point of the pole vault coincides with the center of the precious metal rib.
In the drawing a number of exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown, namely FIGS. La, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a and 6a each show the cross section of a composite metal block prepared according to the invention, where α is the base metal, b is the noble metal and c means the protective metal. In the embodiment according to FIG. 5a, the support b of the noble metal does not sit directly on the base metal a, but an intermediate layer d of a metal is also switched on, which occupies an intermediate position between the two other metals in terms of its machinability and hardness.
Durch die no Anordnung der Streifen bv b2 und c symmetrisch zur Mitte wird ein besonderer Schutz gegen säbelförmiges Krümmen und Verlagerungen beim Walzen erreicht.6a shows a section in which the protective metal c forms a central insert in the base metal α and covers two noble metal layers b 1 and b 2. The arrangement of the strips b v b 2 and c symmetrically to the center provides a special protection against saber-shaped bending and shifting during rolling.
1b, 2b, 3b, 4b, 5b and 6b show the cross-sections of the rolled-out strips. Figs. Ic, 2c, 3c, 4c, 5c and 6e show the band cross-sections after the chemical removal of the protective metal layer. In the embodiment according to FIG. 6c, the band is still in two separate bands O 1 , b ± and a 2 , 5 2 shared. Finally, Figures id, 2d and

Sd fertige Kontaktformen. Sd finished contact forms. In Fig. 3d a plan view of the tape is given, the cross section of which is shown in Fig. 3c. From Fig. 3d it can be seen how by obliquely cutting out the contacts from the composite metal strip a, b contacts k can be obtained, the noble metal strip b of which extends obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the contact. If two such contacts k according to FIGS. 3 e and 3 f are used together, a pair of crossed contact springs is obtained, by means of which a so-called point contact of the contact strips b is achieved in a very simple manner.
Finally, in FIGS. 7a, 7b and 7c, a tubular body according to the invention is shown in cross section in the various stages of manufacture, which carries two longitudinal ribs O 1 , b 2 made of noble metal on the base metal α , which during the drawing process through a protective metal c are protected, which covers the ribs and rounds off the cross-section.
It is clear that the sheets, strips, wires, rods, Pipes after pickling away the protective metal still mechanically, e.g. B. by smoothing or rolling of the precious metal, can be reworked. It is the same. possible on to apply the already proposed method to the contacts made in this way, around the precious metal by upsetting, stamping or pressing at the point of the contact pole to agglomerate and thicken even more. However, those made according to the present method have contacts already thick and full contact poles. Finally, it should be noted that the Under certain circumstances, protective metal can only be removed from the finished contacts, which can be of advantage when the contact with the protective metal improves by z. B. pressing, bending can be converted into its final shape.
