Description
Heat treatable beryllium-copper alloys Addition to patent 665 734 In the patent 6'65 734 heat-treatable beryllium-copper alloys are described, which are made of copper with 0.5 to 3.5 % beryllium and 0.3 to 5% Consist of lead. These alloys are primarily intended to be used for purposes that require good workability by cutting tools. If necessary, the alloys can also contain additions of zinc, nickel, aluminum, tin, titanium, magnesium, phosphorus; Chromium, tungsten, molybdenum contained in amounts known per se.
It has now been found that alloys can be obtained which are similar Way with cutting tools. Can be machined if you can get the lead completely or partially replaced by tellurium. By adding yan, tellurium, it is possible - especially with those beryllium-copper alloys that are in the state of Alphabronze are present, i.e. z. B. binary beryllium-copper alloys with 20 /, Beryllium to get a small and tangy chip. It was found that for beryllium-copper alloys with 211 /, beryllium and the simultaneous addition of 2 or 50j, iron or 10/0 sulfur or z or 3% cerium undesirably long and curly chips can be obtained. Adding phosphorus or calcium will make it brittle the chips have already increased, but not to a sufficient extent during a Addition of z. B. 2 ° / a tellurium particularly favorable to the achievement of a short-brittle_ Spanes works.
