Der in der Zeichnung dargestellte Krahn besteht aus folgenden Hauptbestandtheilen:The crane shown in the drawing consists of the following main components:

Einer in sich geschlossenen kalibrirten Lastkette, einer Kurbelachse a mit darauf festsitzendem Zahnrade \ und der Bremsscheibe B. Seitlich davon ist eine Vorgelegewelle b mit fest darauf sitzendem Stirnrad Z, sowie eine zweite Welle O₁ mit losem Stirnrad Z₁ gelagert. Die Vorgelegewellen b b₁ tragen fest mit ihnen verbundene gezahnte Kettenrollen R und R₁. Auf der Achse b_x ist verschiebbar eine Doppelzahnkupplung K angeordnet, wodurch es ermöglicht wird, mittelst des Hebels h das lose Stirnrad Z₁ mit seiner Achse ^₁ und mit der verzahnten Kettenrolle R₁ zu kuppeln. Das Lager L trägt die Gegenzahnung k für die Kupplung K, damit vermittelst derselben die Achse b₁ festgestellt werden kann, wenn dieselbe eingeschoben wird.
