Alkoholen, und zwar mit einer Kohlenstoffzahl bis etwa 8 Kohlenstoffatome, verestert;
hergestellt und in diese unter entsprechenden Bedingungen die Fettsäure eingetragen;
Wetting Agents With the present invention, the art becomes a group
high-quality wetting agents, especially for the textile industry, supplied. It was
namely found that not only the sulfuric acid esters formed during the sulfonation of oils
of fatty acids and their alkali salts, but to a still greater degree their esters are excellent
Are wetting agents. These are the esters of low molecular weight monovalent
aliphatic alcohol ricinoleic acid CH3 (CH2) .CHOH CH.CH - CH (CH2), COOH, ricinoleic sulfuric acid

three ways have proven to be feasible: 'i. those produced by known methods
Sulfuric acid and the fatty acids are monovalent with the desired aliphatic
Esterified alcohols having a carbon number of up to about 8 carbon atoms;
a. First of all, the concentrated sulfuric acid and the alcohol become the alkylsulfuric acid
produced and entered the fatty acid under appropriate conditions;
get with a carbon number up to about 8 carbon atoms with the partially already
isolated sulfuric acid sorbers of the fatty acids produced by the addition of 1 mole of sulfuric acid
to the hydroxyl group of the oxy or to the double bond of the unsaturated fatty acid
develop. The ester formation can take place on the sulfuric acid ester group or depending on the circumstances
also take place at the same time on the carboxyl group. 3. Has to be particularly easy
It has been found that the addition of sulfuric acid and its esterification are all in one
To carry out the operation. In this case one works so that the fatty acid in
the corresponding monohydric aliphatic alcohol is dissolved and now the
Sulfuric acid is entered. The products thus obtained are after washing
and neutralizing in water almost clearly soluble and are characterized by a
very high network capability. The corresponding alkyl esters of the fatty acid sulfuric acid esters
with higher molecular weight
Alcohol residues are sometimes more difficult to dissolve,
but show z. B. in a mixture with solubilizers also significant wetting ability.
In the preparation of such an ester you can, for. B. proceed as follows: q.oo kg of castor fatty acid are mixed with 100 kg of butyl alcohol and this mixture is treated with 65 kg of concentrated sulfuric acid at a temperature not exceeding 10 ° C. After the sulfonation has ended, the reaction product is decomposed with ice and the excess sulfuric acid is removed by washing with sodium sulfate solution. If the product obtained in this way is set to a total fatty acid content of 37.5010 and the wetting ability is determined according to K rais (Leipziger monthly for the textile industry, 1926, no.6, p.237), for example, a solution of 5 g results per liter and at 2o`C a wetting time of 25 seconds, while a turkey red oil adjusted to the same total fatty acid content at the same temperature and dilution when using the same thread material shows a wetting time of 20 minutes.
