Description
Method of achieving diffuse reflection or transmission for radiation devices of all kinds The procedure of the main patent 653 255 relates on the production of a diffusely reflective or diffusely permeable coating on reflectors or radiation source enclosures made of earth metal compounds and is mixed with fluorides to adhere firmly to metal or glass. In the description it is then specifically stated that the layer to be applied can also be colored as required. The coloring with the usual dyes works selectively absorbing both in transmission and in reflection, so subtractive. When using -a blue dye z. B: turn yellow, Orange and sometimes red swallowed so that the green and blue parts of the Spectrum of the light sources used - with a loss of overall brightness - stronger step forward.
In contrast, according to the invention, they are fluorescent or phosphorescent Substances instead of the usual dyes are used, so are the short-wave dyes Rays of light sources, the extreme blue and the ultraviolet, for which the eye is little sensitive or completely insensitive, transformed into visible rays. The fluorescent or phosphorescent substances, which one under the designation Luminophores combined, then have an additive coloring effect on the light of the light sources, and thereby at the same time a gain in brightness is achieved.
The addition of luminophores to the paints or applications of reflectors, etc. is known per se; so has long been tried that To add rhodamine to applications, for example to the light of mercury vapor lamps add red rays so that the end result is a whitish light. However, the procedure has not proven itself. Apart from the fact that -Rhodamine too much was swallowed up by the blue and green rays of the mercury vapor light the rhodamine added to the paints is not enough against the influences of atmospheric air protected.
Luminophores have recently been put together, the U-V radiation of mercury vapor lamps and their visible short-wave Transform rays into yellow-red light, with no significant parts of the blue and green Swallowing radiation. However, their practical utilization has so far failed the lack of weather resistance of the primer coat and on the Presence of organic components in this.
Experiments have now shown that the # a disadvantageous phenomena Do not enter # if the new luminous phosphors correspond to the specified mass to be added to the procedure according to the main patent 653'55: 'Damif has an important Question of lighting technology found its solution.
To further safeguard against the influences of the atmosphere is recommended it becomes chemically indifferent after the base coat has dried and to apply a rapidly hardening, water-insoluble protective coating.
