Die Erfindung betrifft die Verbesserung der Kühlung von geschlossenen elektrischen Maschinen mit seitlichen Nachschau-, Wartungs- oder Reparaturöffnungen. Insbesondere müssen bei Kollektor- oder Schleifringmaschinen vor allem der Kollektor, die Bürstenhalter sowie die Bürsten dauernd überwacht und gewartet werden, zu welchem Zweck leicht verschließbare Öffnungen an den Seiten der Maschine angeordnet sind. Wurden bisher Maschinen solcher Art mit künstlicher Oberflächenkühlung ausgeführt, so hat man sich damit abgefunden, daß im Bereich der seitlichen Öffnungen keine Mittel zur Vermehrung der Wärmeabfuhr vorgesehen waren, weil die bekannten Kühlmäntel die Zugänglichkeit ins Maschineninnere beeinträchtigen und somit an diesen Stellen untauglich waren. Außerdem wurde der Gewinn an Kühlung nicht so hoch' eingeschätzt, daß sich die Anbringung von Kühlelementen an diesen Stellen, die jedenfalls besondere Bedingungen stellten, lohnte.The invention relates to improving the cooling of closed electrical Machines with side inspection, maintenance or repair openings. Erfindungsgemäß wird um das Gehäuse der Maschine herum ein aus einem oder mehreren betriebsmäßig lösbaren, zweckmäßig deckelartig aufklappbaren Teilen bestehender Kühlmantel angeordnet, der die Nachschau- und Wartungsöffnungen überdeckt, und dessen nach außen abgeschlossene Kühlräume durch die genannten Öffnungen mit dem Innenluftraum der Maschine in Verbindung stehen.
