selbst bzw. Gemischen dieser Substanzen erleichtert und beschleunigt wird.Process for the production of calcium cyanamide It is known that the
Acotization of carbide by adding fluorspar, calcium chloride and other catalysts,
such as alkaline earth or alkali halides, oxides and carbonates, also calcium cyanamide
itself or mixtures of these substances is facilitated and accelerated.
The present invention relates to the addition of fluorspar-calcium cyanamide mixtures
in azotation. This addition is only possible with high-percentage carbides, i. H. such,
which have a content of 75 "/" Ca C2 and above, effective, with likely
the calcium cyanamide the introduction and the river spar addition the continuation of the azotization
accelerated. It has been found that the full effectiveness of this mixture is only
occurs when the following conditions are met: The river sparrow additive
should not exceed 5 "/ a, and so much calcium cyanamide must be added
that the azotation mixture does not contain more than 72 "/" Ca C2. The procedure owns
its main value in the application of the initial ignition, the azotizing mixture
is ignited by inserted heating rods and then under the influence of the heat of azotization
azo to the end of its own accord.

From the series of experiments 5 and 5 a it is evident that mixing down the carbide with fluorspar alone gives much poorer yields than if the fluorspar is partially replaced by calcium cyanamide. If you derf; The addition of fluorspar is even further increased, and the yield is even worse. B. Yields of only 83 to 85 0/0. The same results from a comparison of the test series: 2 and 3, which show that the yield drops sharply if the addition of riversparagus is increased by more than 5% and the addition of lime stick is reduced accordingly. Even the addition of calcium cyanamide alone gives, as test series 6 shows, yields that are considerably below 90%. The currently valid operating instructions with the average numbers of over g% obtained can be seen from test series 7.
B. niedrigprozentiges Ausgangscarbid
von 68 0/0 Ca C2 mit einem Gemisch von q. % Flußspat und 6 % Kalkstickstoff versetzt,
so erhielt man eine Ausbeute von 86 %. Dasselbe Carbid ohne jeden Zusatz ergab dagegen
eine Ausbeute von 88,7 %.In the case of low-percentage cyanide, the addition of fluorspar and calcium cyanamide mixtures has a positive effect
no purpose in the priming procedure. Was z. B. low percentage starting carbide
of 68 0/0 Ca C2 with a mixture of q. % Fluorspar and 6% calcium cyanamide added,
a yield of 86% was obtained. On the other hand, gave the same carbide without any additive
a yield of 88.7%.

The experiments show that when high-percentage carbide is azotized after the initial ignition process, regardless of whether the insert remains in the furnace during the azotization or is pulled out beforehand, good results are only achieved if the azotization required .Carbide mixture has a content of highest f% Ca C2, expedient of about

:, from # not indifferent with what
fzstofferf the high percentage carbide is mixed down, but the best results are obtained by adding a fluorspar calcium cyanamide mixture, in which the content of CaF2 should not exceed 5% and as a second component so much calcium cyanamide is added that the Ca C2 content of the azotization mixture 61 to 64%. Higher Ca F2 contents, in addition to the deterioration in yield identified above (tests a and 3), have a negative impact on the nitrogen content of the finished product; higher calcium cyanamide surcharges become uneconomical.
