Description
Process for the production of dry chlorinated rubber object The invention is a process for the manufacture and recovery of chlorinated rubber the same in dry form.
It is known to use rubber in the form of its solutions, e.g. B. in chlorobenzene, To chlorinate carbon tetrachloride or the like. It was z. B. suggested a Chlorinated rubber, which has the annoying property of subsequently splitting off hydrogen chloride, does not have to produce by bringing a rubber solution to a temperature which corresponds approximately to the boiling point of the solvent, heated in the reflux condenser and at this temperature is treated with chlorine until no hydrogen chloride is found more developed. After the chlorination has ended and the solvent has been distilled off a chlorinated rubber is obtained, which is a compact mass. This method is both for the production of the dry chlorinated rubber and in relation to the Recovery of the solvent, associated with considerable difficulties.
The method of the invention that avoids these disadvantages exists now in that the rubber solution is finely atomized and gaseous chlorine on allows the rubber solution, which is in the state of fine distribution, to act, with the temperature is adjusted so that the solvent evaporates.
There is, for example, an advantageous embodiment of the method -in it, the rubber solution with the help of the chlorine stream z. B. to be sprayed by means of nozzles. But you can also use the rubber solution with the help of suitable mechanical devices dust and add the heated chlorine to the sprayed solution, z. B. by expediently to close to the boiling point of the solvent or a stream of chlorine heated above this boiling point with the product in atomized form Brings together states, e.g. B. blows the chlorine stream into the spray curtain. Man can either lead the flow of chlorine in the direction of the spray curtain or let it blow against the heaviness against the spray curtain. Finally can the rubber solution by means of suitable mechanical devices in a Spray or atomize a room filled with chlorine at a suitable temperature.
Der so gewonnene Chlorkautschuk spaltet nachträglich keinen Chlorwasserstoff_ mehr ab.In all cases, the chlorinated rubber falls as a fluffy solid mass while the solvent evaporates and condenses by taking appropriate measures and so can be regained. The chlorinated rubber obtained in this way splits subsequently no more hydrogen chloride.
Gemisches bedienen.Instead of pure chlorine you can also use a mixture of chlorine with inert or effective gases, e.g. B.! A chlorine-air, a chlorine-hydrochloric acid or the like. Mixture.
The temperature required to carry out the process depends on mainly from the solvent used and can be easily determine through experiments. By increasing or decreasing the gas flow or Increase or decrease the gas concentration or by regulating the inflow of rubber solution, the degree of chlorination of the end product can be regulated as desired.
It has been found to be beneficial to the rubber before one subjects it to the chlorination process, e.g. B. before dissolving in the solvent subject to degradation, e.g. B. by rolling o. Like.
The method of the invention is associated with considerable advantages. The amounts of solvent required to carry it out are relatively large small, and the apparatus is particularly simple; the reaction is very quick; Loss of solvent is largely ruled out; it becomes immediately leg finished and durable dry product in particularly valuable; lighter and flaky shape obtain.-
