Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von elektrischen Heizstäben mit
in einen Blechmantel eingeschlossener, den Heizdraht enthaltender Isoliermasse.
Bei bisher bekannten Herstellungsverfahren von Heizstäben wird der Mantel ohne besondere
Vorkehrungen um die Isoliermasse des Heizwiderstandes herumgelegt, so daß häufig
zwischen Mantel und Isoliermasse Luftpolster entstehen. Diese Luftpolster ergeben eine
schlechte Wärmeableitung und eine unangenehme Überhitzung des Heizdrahtes. Vergrößert
wird dieser Nachteil, wenn der Heizstab auf höhere Temperaturen kommt, da sich dann der Blechmantel gegenüber 'der
Isoliermasse ausdehnt und somit die wärmeisolierenden Luftpolster größer werden.The invention relates to a method for producing electrical heating rods with an insulating compound enclosed in a sheet metal jacket and containing the heating wire.

Nach der Erfindung wird die Herstellung des Heizstabes so vorgenommen, daß in eine Blechrinne von wenigstens zur Hälfte kreisförmigem Querschnitt der Heizdraht mit der Isoliermasse eingebettet wird3 worauf die freien Längsränder der Rinne um die aufwärts gebogenen Längsränder eines als Ab-Schluß der Rinne dienenden Bleches herum gefalzt und die Falzränder unter Pressung nach innen umgebogen werden. Hierbei wird beim Falzen eine starke Zugwirkung in Umfangsrichtung der Blechrinne ausgeübt, so daß der Mantel des fertiggestellten Heizstabes in sich eine Vorspannung besitzt. Infolge dieser Spannung liegt der Blechmantel fest an der Isoliermasse an. Selbst wenn eine Erwärmung stattfindet, wird die gute Berührung zwischen Mantel und Isoliermasse wenig beeinflußt, da die vorhandene Vorspannung einen Ausgleich für die Ausdehnung durch Wärme bildet.According to the invention, the production of the heating rod is carried out in such a way that the heating wire with the insulating compound is embedded in a sheet metal trough of at least half a circular cross-section 3 whereupon the free longitudinal edges of the trough around the upwardly curved longitudinal edges of a sheet metal serving as the end of the trough folded and the folded edges are bent inwards under pressure. Ferner ist der flache Querschnitt bei der im Betriebe auftretenden Wärmeausdehnung besonders ungünstig, weil sich der Blechmantel an den flachen Seiten leicht nach außen biegt, so daß an diesen Stellen die nachteilige wärmeisolierende Luftschicht entsteht. Dieser Fehler wird im übrigen dann noch vergrößert, wenn derartige Stäbe gebogen werden. Die Erfahrung zeigt, daß die Stäbe nach der Erfindung sogar beim Biegen ihre guten Eigenschaften nicht verlieren.The folding together of sheet metal jackets is known per se for heating rods.
