Es sind Rohrwalzwerke mit Außen- und Iimenwalzen bekannt, bei denen die Kalibrierung der Innenwalzen der Auflösung eines zugespitzten Domes entspricht. Bei diesen wird der Werkstoff in der Richtung des Rohrumfanges gestreckt, wobei die Innenwalzen nicht nur als Widerlager des von außen wirkenden Druckes dienen, sondern gleichzeitig in ihrem zugespitzten Teil als formänderndes Werkzeug wirken.
