Description

Purification of di- and trialkali phosphate liquors are primary neutralized Alkali phosphate liquors using alkali carbonates or caustic alkalis to di- or trialkali phosphate liquors, calcium, magnesium and iron phosphates are likely to precipitate for the most part, however, depending on the concentration chosen, small amounts still remain these impurities back to the solution equilibrium accordingly. These impurities harm less if you get the alkali phosphates from it through a crystallization process wins, since these impurities then remain in the mother liquor. they do however, it is extremely disturbing in the case of those alkali metal phosphates which result from such Lyes, for example, by spraying or another technical salt deposition process are obtained in which no mother liquors are formed. The salts so produced that is, they are discolored and cloudy, and soluble.

It has now been shown that you can even use the most concentrated alkalis to such an extent that it can rid itself of these impurities Salts produced without the occurrence of mother liquor are perfect, even at the greatest dilution are clearly soluble and are white in color, if these alkalis under increased pressure, z. B. a pressure of 5 to 15 at, heated, eliminating any remaining impurities are largely precipitated so that they can be separated in a simple manner.

Any iron present essentially causes the discoloration of the alkali phosphates obtained without separation of mother liquor and the turbidity of their Solutions; the degree of its deposition is therefore essential for the success of the procedure decisive.

So wurde beispielsweise eine vierfach normale Dinatriumphosphatlauge, die auf i Million Teile P205 u. a. I ioo Teile Eisen gelöst enthielt, durch Erhitzen auf 5 bzw. i i at Druck so weit von Verunreinigungen befreit, daß nur noch 14o bzw. 9o Teile Eisen auf i Million Teile P.05 darin enthalten waren. Thus, for example, a four times normal Dinatriumphosphatlauge containing dissolved on i million parts of P205 among others I ioo parts iron by heating at 5 or ii at pressure to the impurities free, that only 14o and 9o parts of iron on i million parts P.05 were included. The salts obtained from lye purified in this way without accumulation of mother liquor were of a pure white color and gave completely clear solutions with any degree of dilution, even after the addition of sodium hydroxide solution.
