Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 2. Mai 1931 abPatented in the German Empire on May 2, 1931
Um die Oberflächen der Pupinspulenmuffen vollständig mit Panzerdrähten bedecken zu können, wozu aber eine größere Anzahl von Drähten erforderlich istIt is well known that pupinized submarine cables present a particular difficulty in a flawless armoring that meets all requirements in that the pupin coil sleeves always have a larger diameter than the cable. Around the surfaces of the pupin coil sleeves completely with armored wire to be able to cover, but for which a larger number of wires is required
Auch ist es bekannt, die Panzerung von jedem einzelnen der beiden angrenzenden Kabelenden über die Muffe hinwegzuführento than on the cable, it has been suggested to put the armored wires of the cable over the sleeve lead away and alternately insert auxiliary wires between two such wires, which are welded to the armored wires of the cable at the ends of the sleeve or otherwise connected. It is also known the armor of each of the two adjacent ones Lead the cable ends over the sleeve
ao und in ähnlicher Weise an den Enden zu verschweißen oder zu befestigen.ao and in a similar way to be welded or fastened at the ends.
However, such methods have the disadvantage that it is never or only extremely it is difficult to design the individual attachment points of the armored wires in such a way that that all wires are under the same tension. With subsequent train or Bending stresses then always shows that the fastening points of a or several wires are stressed much more than others, which then either tear prematurely or exert strong unilateral pressure on the socket, see above that the remaining wires, which are under less pressure, bend apart and the sleeve located therein may be pushed out.
Zur Erhaltung der Biegsamkeit der Muffen empfiehlt es sich, die aufgescho-The invention now relates to a method for applying the 'armored wires Pupinseekabeln, the armored wires of which are guided helically over the bobbin without interruption, in which the Avoidance of the above-mentioned disadvantages on the entire surface of the joint in an uninterrupted manner Sequence of spacing agents in the form of conical or cylinder jacket-shaped, not too wide support rings are applied, the helical Grooves for receiving and holding as well as for evenly distributing the armored wire have over the entire circumference of the spool socket. A bobbin sleeve produced by this method can be used in the Laying the necessary bending stresses are exposed without danger exists that the armored wires move and the tensile stress as a result is distributed unevenly on the individual wires. To maintain flexibility of the sleeves, it is advisable to

In der Zeichnung ist eine beispielsweise Ausführungsform dargestellt, und zwar zeigennot to make the supporting rings too wide and put a ring between each two rings elastic material, for example made of rubber, to be arranged. In the drawing is an example embodiment shown, namely show

Zwischen je zwei Ringen liegt ein Gummiring 6.1 denotes the cable ends on both sides, 2 the conical transition pieces, 3 the actual spool socket. Via the conical transition pieces and the socket support rings 4 are pushed, in whose grooves the armored wires 5 are held. Between For every two rings there is a rubber ring 6.
In order to prevent the armored wires from the The grooves of the support rings pop out, ■ it is advisable to place one above the socket known to attach additional protective winding made of wire or tape.
The retaining rings themselves are expediently made of corrosion-resistant light metal, and best in such a way that grooves are milled into a conical or cylindrical tube and this tube is then subsequently cut into individual rings.
Instead of the round wire armor shown in the drawing, you can of course Wires with any other cross-sectional shape can also be used.
