Description
For storing moving parts in a vacuum, e.g. B. rotating anticathodes in X-ray tubes were previously only used for plain bearings, while ball bearings were considered unusable held because oil or grease lubrication, which appeared to be indispensable for ball bearings, is out of the question in a vacuum. According to the invention, ball bearings are used in vacuum tubes, their bearing shells and balls are made of tungsten or molybdenum. Such ball bearings are, as tests have shown, without oil or Grease lubrication useful. Ball bearings with bearing shells have proven themselves particularly well Tungsten and molybdenum balls. These metals also have the advantage that. their properties through the Manufacturing process in vacuum tubes does not require heating of the metal parts change.
Another improvement of the object of the invention is for the Ball cage to use a material that slides well in a vacuum. Than good in vacuum Silver, silver alloys, graphite or metals containing graphite have proven to be slippery, for example, a mixture of copper and graphite, has proven its worth.
