Description

Process for the production of a rubber which accelerates the vulcanization Compound The present invention provides a method of preparation a compound that accelerates vulcanization. It's already suggested have been able to produce such compounds through the action of mercaptobenzothiazole an organic base, guanidine, preferably disubstituted guanidine, e.g. B. Diphenylguanidine, to manufacture. The present invention differs from the known in that that hexamethylenetetramine is used as the organic base. The compound thus obtained has the advantage over the products obtained with guanidine, etc., that the reaction product of hexamethylenetetramine and mercaptobenzothiazole is a resin that is easily removed mixes with gum while the reaction product of the mercaptobenzothiazole and diphenylguanidine etc. is a solid body melting at 170 ° C and above, which high melting point is the cause of major difficulties in incorporation into the rubber. Further accelerates the reaction product of hexamethylenetetramine with mercaptobenzothiazole vulcanization does not occur as rapidly as the reaction product of e.g. B. Diphenylguanidine and mercaptobenzothiazole. This has the advantage that premature solidification of the Rubber is avoided. The hexamenthylenetetramine can be in crystalline form and also in aqueous solution, which can be obtained by saturating a formaldehyde solution with Ammonia can be used. Instead of equimolecular amounts of Substances also a molecule of hexamethylenetetramine with one, two or three molecules' of the mercaptan.

For example, a mixture of about 14.o parts of hexamethylenetetramine can be used dry or in aqueous solution with about 165 parts of mercaptobenzothiazole at 150 ° Heat C for one hour. After the reaction wears off, that will Bring mixture to 2oo ° C and for about q. Heated for hours and then cooled, resulting in a dark, resinous substance that turns dark brown after grinding Powder forms.

These Aeaktionsprodukte are in the proportion of 0.5 parts of the accelerator to 100 parts rubber, 5 parts zinc oxide and 3 parts sulfur used and the mixture vulcanized in the press at a temperature that by the steam creates a pressure of 2.812 kg on the cm2; the duration of the heating is about 15 minutes.
