Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Entkeimmaschine mit umlaufender geriffelter Trommel, die mit Schneckengängen versehen ist, und besteht, darin, daß diese Schneckengänge ebenfalls geriffelt sind. Wesentliche Vorteile bietet hierbei die seitliche Reibarbeit durch die geriffelten Schneckengänge, da die Kartoffel sich ihrem Gewicht und ihrer länglichen Form zufolge so legt, daß der Keim den Schneckenriffelungen zugewendet ist.
