Bei dem in beiliegender Zeichnung in zwei zu einander rechtwinkligen Längsschnitten und zwei Querschnitten dargestellten Dampfcylinder sind die Schieberkastenwandungen durch eine abnehmbare, den ganzen Arbeitscylinder A umschliefsende Haube H ersetzt. Der Schieberspiegel s charakterisirt sich als eine der inneren Bohrung concentrisch sich anscbliefsende Fläche, welche durch äufseres Abdrehen der Cylinder- bezw. Kanalwandungen erzeugt werden kann, ohne dafs auf der Drehbank ein Umspannen des Stückes zum Ausbohren des Arbeitsraumes erforderlich wird. Auch der Dampfschieber S, welcher eine dem Schieberspiegel s entsprechende Gestalt erhält und die Dampfvertheilung in gewöhnlicher Weise bewirkt, kann durch Ausbohren seiner Gleitungsfläche hergestellt werden, und erleichtert sich seine Fabrikation dadurch wesentlich, dafs man im Modell mehrere Exemplare solcher Schieber in einem Cylinder von angemessener Weite vereinigt und aus dem hiernach erhaltenen Gufsstück durch gemeinsames Ausbohren und Abstechen, sowie späteres Auseinanderhobeln stets eine gröfsere Zahl genannter Stücke hervorbringt.
