In Fortbildung dieser Bestrebungen, eine planmäßige Mischung des Brennstoffes mit der Luft zu erreichen, wird gemäß der Erfindung vorgeschlagen, den vom Zylinder kommenden, tangential in die Vorkammer einmündenden Kanal außerdem zur Vorkammer hin konisch zu verengen. Diese Ausbildung der Verbindung zwischen Zylinderraum und Vorkammer bringt den Vorteil mit sich, daß die Luft in genügendem Abstand vom Luftkern der Umwälzkammer in diese vom Zylinder her einströmt. Die konische Form des Verbindungskanals ist außerdem strömungstechnisch die bestgeeignete, weil mit möglichst geringem Druckgefälle zwischen Zylinder und Vorkammer eine hohe Eintrittsgeschwindigkeit am Kammerumfang erzielt werden soll.
