Description

Process for obtaining a natural substance from urine, which influences the heart and blood circulation The patent 518 292 protects a process for:, separation of a product from urine, which exercises a natural regulation of the blood circulation and the heart activity and is to be referred to as a circulatory hormone.

In further processing it has now been found that the circulatory hormone is separated from the urine or from the aqueous solutions obtainable by the process of main patent 518 292 by adsorption on benzoic acid according to conventional methods and from the adsorbate obtainable after removal of the benzoic acid Extraction can be obtained by means of the solvents customary for this purpose. The yields of active substances that can be obtained depend on the nature of the starting material. It could be up to about 8o BC. H. of the active substance can be obtained in the manner mentioned. Since nothing more is known about the chemical structure of the circulatory hormone, the new way shown by the above-mentioned method for the production of this hormone, even if it makes use of known working methods, could not be foreseen in any way. The new process therefore represents a remarkable enrichment of the technology. EXAMPLE 1 In 10 1 of the solutions purified by uranyl acetate precipitation of the urine according to the process mentioned, ¢ o ccm of a saturated alcoholic solution of benzoic acid is poured. The resulting precipitate is filtered off and the benzoic acid is washed out with alcohol and ether. EXAMPLE 2 Goo cc of saturated alcoholic benzoic acid solution is poured into 10 1 urine while stirring. The precipitate is filtered off, dried, taken up in alcohol and filtered again. The residue is dissolved with a weak alkali and cleaned again several times over by acid precipitation.
