Wassergekühlte Entladungsröhre Es ist bei wassergekühlten Entladungsröhren beobachtet worden, daß die Kühlung unwirksam wird, wenn die Belastungsdichte, d. h. die Energiebelastung pro Flächeneinheit der Anode, ein gewisses Maß überschreitet, und daß dann lokale Überhitzungen auf der Anode eintreten. Zurückzuführen ist diese Erscheinung wohl darauf, daß infolge des mehr oder minder lamellaren Störungscharakters der Kühlflüssigkeit längs der Anode die berührenden Grenzschichten langsam fortgeführt werden und bei stärkerer Erwärmung der Anode an derselben sich isolierende Dampfblasen ausbilden können. Um eine derartige Ausbildung von Dampfblasen zu verhüten, hat man sich bisher, wie bekannt, in der Weise zu helfen gesucht, daß man das Wasser mit großer Geschwindigkeit an der zu kühlenden Anodenfläche entlangströmen ließ, wobei gegebenenfalls durch Anwendung eines sehr engen Kühlmantels an der Anode ein schnelles Vorbeiströmen der Kühlflüssigkeit und Mitreißen der Dampfblasen erzielt wurde. Gute Resultate sind auch erhalten worden durch Auflöten von 115 mm Kupferdraht in einer Schraubenlinie von etwa 3 bis 5 mm Ganghöhe an den Anodenzylinder. Es ist zweckmäßig, für guten Wärmekontakt der Rippen oder des Drahtes mit der Anode Sorge zu tragen, um dadurch zugleich eine Vergrößerung der zu kühlenden Oberfläche zu erhalten.
