Description
Manufacture of fertilizers In the patent 492 310 a process for the production of calcined phosphates is described, which consists in that one annealing process in the presence of steam phosphorites in a mixture with silicic acid and sulfates or chlorides of the alkalis, optionally with the addition of lime while maintaining certain molar ratios. Subjects at temperatures of about goo ° C and above.
Instead of using the chlorides and sulphates of the alkalis individually, but you can also prepare mixtures of these salts and use them for digestion use of rock phosphates.
It has now been found that the use of mixtures of alkali sulfates and chlorides for the production of calcined phosphates has particular advantages if they are used in a form in which they are already found in nature or as waste salts in industry (industrial salt ) occurrence. Such mixtures have little intrinsic value in and of themselves, but because they are used for the production of calcined phosphates, they are of great economic importance. Exemplary embodiment roo parts of a North African rock phosphate with 39.7 % P206, 47.0% Ca0 (bound to phosphoric acid), 5.61% Ca0 (not bound to P206) and 0.56 % S102 with ir parts of ouarz sand and 45 parts of a waste product (industrial salt), consisting of 60% sodium sulfate and 40% sodium chloride, intimately mixed .11% total phosphoric acid, 27.84% citrate-soluble P.0, (soluble in amm. Ammonium citrate solution according to Petermann), ie 9%% digestion of the total phosphoric acid.
