Verfahren zur Behandlung von feinfädiger Cellulosehydratseide, wie Viskoseseide, Kupferseide u. dgl. Es ist bereits bekannt, daß bei der Behandlung von Cellulosehydratseide, wie Viskoseseide, Kupferseide u. dgl., im folgenden kurz Kunstseide genannt, eine erhebliche Veränderung der inneren Beschaffenheit auftritt, wenn dieselbe mit Alkalien, insbesondere Natronlauge, behandelt wird. Diese Veränderungen äußern sich an der Festigkeit und an dem Dehnungsvermögen des Materials, erhöhen zwar wohl im allgemeinen die Dehnung, setzen aber dafür die Festigkeit in erheblichem Maße herunter und sind abhängig von Behandlungsdauer, Behandlungstemperatur und Konzentration der Behandlungsflüssigkeit u. dgl. B. bei gewöhnlicher Viskoseseide mit einer geringeren Einzelfadenstärke von 3 oder ¢ den., desgleichen auch bei einer feinfädigen Seide, wie sie gemäß englischen Patenten 27q.521, 27q.690, 2ß1 35i erhalten werden kann; schließlich auch bei an und für sich grobtitriger Kunstseide, welche aus besonders dünnen, stark verbreiterten, bändchenartigen Einzelfäden besteht. Als solche feinfädige Bändchenseide hat sich besonders solche bewährt, welche nach dem Patent 513 376 hergestellt werden kann. Bei dieser letzteren scheint die gute Wirkung deshalb in Erscheinung zu treten, weil der Faden, wenigstens in der einen Dimension, eine so außerordentlich geringe Abmessung hat. Das Verfahren kann bei Viskoseseide entweder schon auf unentschwefelte Seide angewendet werden oder erst nach der Entschwefelung. -Im ersteren Falle arbeitet das Verfahren dem Entschweflungsprozeß naturgemäß vor.
