Description

Ultraviolet light permeable threads and fabrics are the subject of the invention is the use of ultraviolet light-permeable glass for the production of threads and fabrics. You already have certain vegetable and animal fibers and threads and fabrics made therefrom for their permeability to ultraviolet rays Light tested with the aim of choosing fibers that are as impermeable as possible increased protection of clothing against intense solar radiation in z. B. bring about tropical climates or others, shown among other things has that linen, cotton and rayon are almost equally permeable, while wool is only about half as permeable as these textile fibers. So it's proportionate easy to find among the vegetable and animal fibers those which have a relatively high opacity to ultraviolet light. In any case, however, these substances are also transparent to ultraviolet light limited upwards and relatively low, as they consistently have a high absorption capacity for the ultraviolet part of the spectrum. In order to use threads and fabrics to get high permeability to ultraviolet light, it is necessary to others, materials outside the group of textile fibers listed above to grab. Such a substance has been found in ultraviolet light transmissive glass.

This fabric can be of the most varied in the form of fine and extremely fine threads Threads and fabrics are processed. Products made from such threads and fabrics can be used, for example, as items of clothing when exercising body culture, body hygiene, Radiotherapy and the like are used, as well as headgear, as curtains and awnings, umbrellas and the like. In all of these cases, the use of Glass threads and fabrics of high ultraviolet light transmission achieved that with it Parts of the body to be clothed or the rooms to be equipped with them or other Objects despite the sufficient coverage against the optical view of the Light source impinging ultraviolet rays supplied practically unattenuated will. When using such textiles on clothing for body culture has also been shown that the body skin also in the areas covered by the tissue is tanned, so that the undesirable delimitations between tanned and originally tanned Remove areas of skin. Curtains, screens and the like made of ultraviolet light-permeable Glass fabrics are particularly distinguished by the fact that they are harmful to the eye direct radiation is shielded by reflection and scattering on the tissue and that the thermal radiation is also considerably reduced without the use of ultraviolet rays are undesirably lost in practically appreciable amounts.
