Die Erfindung ist in der Zeichnung in einem Ausführungsbeispiel dargestellt. Die abzukühlende Luft tritt bei a durch eine Leitung b, die zweckmäßig aus schlecht leitendem Baustoff, z. B. einem Tonrohre, besteht. Am unteren Ende c der Leitung b kehrt die Luft um und tritt durch eine die Leitung b umgebende unten geschlossene Leitung d zurück. e stellt den Stand des Grundwasserspiegels dar. Die aus b und d bestehende Vorrichtung ist bis unterhalb des Grundwasserspiegels geführt. f stellt eine Fördervorrichtung dar, durch die die Luft zur Verwendungsstelle gedrückt wird. Nach dem Austritt aus b erfährt die Luft eine Abkühlung. Die Leitung d wird in den Wandungen wasserdurchlässig gehalten und der Zwischenraum zwischen b und d mit Füllkörpern, z. B. Kies, ausgefüllt, um das durchsickernde Wasser über eine vergrößerte Oberfläche auszubreiten und dadurch die Kühlwirkung zu steigern. Die Pumpvorrichtung h hebt das Wasser bis oberhalb des Grundwasserspiegls e und nicht bis zu der größeren Höhe der Luftfördervorrichtung f.
