Description
Device for mixing paper stock with dilution water Die Mixing of the paper stock scooped or pumped from the chests of cloth with the Dilution water is usually done in such a way that the dilution in a channel The necessary water flows under a gradient, washing away the allocated handmade paper with it and gradually thinned and thinned it on the way over the sand trap to the knot catcher mixes with him. Experience has shown that you need to work with thin paper a lot of dilution water on the paper machine. This now flows quickly, through the formation of swirls and waves, air gets into the material and the mixture is in this case accompanied by a strong foam formation, which is particularly the case with sized papers, jams in the material paths and disturbances in paper sheet formation also causes the paper to look unattractive due to foam stains. When working with thick paper and cardboard, however, there is relatively little Dilution water is necessary, the result is an imperfect mixing of the Fabric with the water, causing build-up of thick fabric in nooks and crannies the way to the knot catcher and the fourdrinier. If now and then the remote If substance is washed away, the diluted substance flows in on the Fourdrinier wire irregular; there are differences in the gram weight of the running paper web. In both cases the work of the sand trap is also not a good one; thick fabric lasts the sand and the impurities are stuck, and too fast a current leaves no time to Drop.
The present invention is intended to eliminate these drawbacks and the complete even mixing of handmade paper and dilution water if avoided the both annoying and harmful foaming can be achieved.
The new mixing device (Fig. I) consists of two parts. The lower Part with nozzle i for connection for the dilution water contains the turbine - with control flaps 3, the upper part the mixing cylinder q. with inlet pipe socket 5 for the handmade paper stock. The shaft 6 rests in a thrust bearing below the turbine 7, the upper end of the shaft leads through the tube 5 of the bulk material line and is stored there at 8. The shaft can at the upper end with a pulley 9 or be provided with a gear to optionally, z. B. with thick cardboard, what little water is required to drive the mixer directly. The wave is in the pipeline is provided with a screw i o, which the inflowing laid paper conveyed into the mixing cylinder. The pipe socket on the lower part i is with the pipe supply line i i of the dilution water connected and provided with valve i a for regulating. Of the The cylinder can have a cylindrical, conical or bulbous shape. His coat 13 consists of bars that are lined up next to each other and attached to rings i ¢ are. Instead of the rods can also be made of sheet metal or the cylinder jacket other material with Schlitzöff.öffnungen be made of any shape. the Gaps or slit openings are dimensioned so that only sufficiently divided and substance diluted with water can flow through to the sand trap channel 17. The mixing cylinder 4. You can also complete with a lid 15, which is in the same way as the Sheath can be formed.
Ia shows the water pipe intersection at i seen from above, with the upper control flap 3 closed the pipeline, but the lower flap 3 is open. The control is effected in this case by hand wheels 3a: Fig. 2 shows the mixing device when seen from above, the lid 1 and 5, the upper feed tube 5, 6, 8, 9 and io omitted. In the upper ring 14 with spokes 14a one can see the rods 13 of the mixing cylinder [, also the lower part of the mixer i with turbine 2.
Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which the bulk material is not fed in from above, but from below (5a, 6a, 7a, 8a, 9a and i oa) and then the intimate mixing, as described in Fig. I, in the mixing cylinder he follows. The valve 12 can be attached in front of the feed point.
The mode of operation is as follows: The turhine a is driven by the pressure of the dilution water. Above the turbine 2, the housing widens conically upwards, as a result of which the water continuously occupies a larger space and can spread out slowly. The consequence of this is a steadily decreasing flow velocity. The upward movement takes place without vortices, without waves, which avoids the formation of foam. The handmade paper is absorbed by the dilution water, dissolved by the rotation of the cylinder ¢ and led in a correspondingly uniform dilution over the sand trap to the knot catcher also the intimate mixing of the water carried out with the substance in the mixing cylinder. the device operates entirely under the water level 1 6 for admission of air, which easily leads to foam formation, to be avoided. by agitating blade or the mixing can be supported in a known manner as well.
