Die in der Zeichnung dargestellten Wasserstandszeiger mit flachen, kreisrunden oder länglichen Gläsern sind mit dem Kesselinnern durch den Stutzen A so verbunden, dafs der gemeinsame Zugang für Dampf und Wasser die gesetzliche Weite und Höhe besitzt. Dieser gemeinsame Zugang wird durch die Hähne a und b in zwei Theile getrennt und so absperrbar, dafs Hahn α den Dampf, Hahn b das Wasser, jeder für sich, abzusperren gestattet, und dafs auch beide Zugänge durch diese Hähne gleichzeitig abgesperrt werden können. Die beiden Hahnküken sind zu diesem letzten Zweck durch die Hebel h h und Stange R mit dem gemeinsamen Griff H verbunden.
