Description
Tiefseespulenmuffe Zur Aufnahme des Wasserdrucks werden Tiefseekabel mit einem Druckschutz versehen, der aus einem aus Formdrähten geschlagenen Hohlseil besteht. Dieses Hohlseil ist nicht vollkommen starr, sondern ,verringert mit zunehmendem äußeren Druck seinen Durchmesser. Wenn diese Verringerung des Durchmessers auch nur gering ist, so entsteht durch sie doch da, wo das Hohlseil z. B. in den starren Rohrstutzen des Druckkörpers einer Pupinspulenmuffe eingeführt ist, ein kleiner Zwischenraum, der Anlaß zu einer Formänderung der äußeren Bleibekleidung und damit zu einer undichten Stelle geben kann. Um das zu verhindern, soll erfindungsgemäß das Einführungsende des Druckkörpers der Pupinspulenmufte durch besondere Mittel, z. B. durch geeignete Formgebung in radialer Richtung, künstlich nachgiebig gemacht werden, so daß es bei zunehmendem Wasserdruck seincn Durchmesser verringert. Dies kann beispielsweise dadurch geschehen, daß parallel zur Achse des Muffenendes eine Anzahl Längsschlitze in den Stutzen eingesägt werden, die mit einer relativ weichen, preßfähigen Masse, beispielsweise Blei, ausgefüllt werden.
