Die Einkochung von rohem Glycerin aus Seifen - Unterlaugen ist mit beträchtlichen Schwierigkeiten verknüpft, welche dadurch verursacht werden, dafs die aus der Glycerinflüssigkeit sich ausscheidenden festen Substanzen und Salze in der sich concentrirenden Flüssigkeit sehr leicht die Neigung haben, zu Kuchen zusammenzubacken und auf den Heizflächen festzubrennen. Hierdurch geht eine grofse Menge Glycerin verloren, weil die aus fest verwachsenen Salzkrystallen gebildeten Kuchen das Glycerin eingeschlossen halten und daher sein Auswaschen unmöglich machen; aufserdem wird auch die Qualität des Glycerins sehr beeinträchtigt. In der beiliegenden Zeichnung ist ein Apparat zu diesem Zwecke dargestellt, und zwar zeigt Fig. ι einen Verticalschnitt, Fig. 2 einen Horizontalschnitt dieses Apparates. Derselbe besteht aus einer metallenen Verdampfungspfanne A, welche mit einer Feuerungsanlage derart versehen ist, dafs nur der obere Theil der Pfanne seitlich von den Feuergasen bestrichen wird, während dieselben mit dem unteren Theil der Pfanne nicht in Berührung kommen. In diese Pfanne A ist ein Gefäfs C¹ von wesentlich geringerer Höhe als die Pfanne A eingesetzt, derart, dafs zwischen der Wandung des Gefäfses D und derjenigen von A ein ringförmiger Raum verbleibt. Es ist zweckmäfsig, das Gefäfs C mit einem centralen Rohrstück D zu versehen, welches etwas niedriger ist als das Gefäfs C selbst.
