Das so auseinandergezogene Tabakblatt gelangt auf die unterhalb der Walze 3 angeordnete Walze 4., die mit einer Erhöhung 12 versehen ist, auf welcher die Rippe des Tabakblattes zu liegen .kommt, während @die ansahließenden Teile des Taba#kblattes von den Schnüren 8 in Rillen 13 gepreßt werden, die zu beiden Seiten der Erhöhung 12 auf der Walze 4 -vorgesehen sind. Dadurch werden die sich an die Rippe anschließenden Teile des Tabakblattes einem derartigen Zuge unterworfen, daß ,die der Rippe durch die scharfe Abbiegung mittels der Walze 3 erteilte Gestalt gewahrt bleibt. Unmittelbar hinter der Übergangsstelle von der Walze 3 zur Walze 4 gelangt die Rippe des Tahakblattes in den Bereich eines Kreismessers 14, das auf der Achse 15 befestigt ist und mittels der Schnur 16 auf der Schnurscheibe 17 angetrieben wird. Das Kreismesser 15 ist so eingestellt, daß an dieser Stelle die auseinandergezogene Rippe vom Tabakblatt abgeschält wird, ohne daß das Tabakblatt selbst geschädigt wird.
